1. Loosenroundhandleknobssecuringupperandlower
handlesandcarefullyfold the upperhandledown
towardthelowerhandleas shownin Figure5-6.
2. Removethetwo screwssecuringbatterycovertobat-
teryhousingandplacethemto the side.SeeFigure
5-6.

Openbatterycover,removepositiveandnegative
leadsfrombattery,removeandreplacewith new
battery.Connectthe positiveleadto the positiveside
ofthebatterypack,thenconnectthenegativeside.
NOTE:Thebatteryyouhavemaydifferslightlyfromthe
oneshownin Figure5-7.RefertothePartsList.
IMPORTANT:Whenreplacingbatterypackin handle
panel,batterypackmustbepositionedwiththe positive
terminaltothe leftsideandthe negativeterminalto the
rightsideofpanel(Positiveterminalis closestto the key
switch).SeeFigure5-7.Replacingbatterypackincor-
rectlywillcauseserious damage.
4. Reattachbatterycoverto batteryhousingby securing
withthetwoscrewsremovedearlier,makingsure
tosnapthewireconduiton theleftintoplaceonthe
housing.
5. Foldhandlesbackup andtightenhandleknobs.
