Throttle Control Lever
Thethrottlecontrolleveris locatedon the rightside of
thetractor'sdashpanel.Thislevercontrolsthespeed
oftheengineand,on somemodels,when pushedall
thewayforward,the chokecontrolalso.Whenset ina
givenposition,the throttlewill maintaina uniformengine
speed.SeeFigure9.
IMPORTANT:Whenoperatingthetractorwiththe cutting
deckengaged,becertainthatthethrottleleveris always
inthe FAST(rabbit)position.
Choke Control
Onsomemodels,movingthe
throttleleverallthe wayforward
activatestheengine'schoke
control.Onall othermodels,the
chokecontrolcanbefoundon
theleftsideofthedashpanel
andisactivatedbypullingthe
knoboutward.Activatingthe
chokecontrolclosesthechoke
plateonthecarburetorandaidsinstartingtheengine.

Thebrakepedalislocatedon /
therightfrontsideof the tractor_
abovethe drive pedalalongthe
runningboard.Thebrakepedal
canbeusedforsuddenstops
or settingthe parkingbrake.
NOTE:Thebrakepedalmust
befullydepressedtoactivate
thesafetyinterlockswitch
whenstartingthe tractor.

intoneutral position, set parking
brake, stop engine and remove
key to prevent unintended
starting.
Tostarttheengine,insertthe keyintothe ignitionswitch
andturnclockwiseto the STARTposition.Releasethe
keyintotheNORMALMOWINGMODEpositiononce
theenginehasfired.
Tostoptheengine,turn theignitionkeycounterclockwise
totheOFFposition.SeeFigure10.
Drive Pedal
Thedrivepedalislocatedbelowthe
brakepedalon the rightfrontside of
thetractoralongthe runningboard.
Depressthedrivepedalwithyourright
footwhenthetractorshift leveris in
eitherFORWARDor REVERSEtocaus_
thetractortomove.Groundspeedis
alsocontrolledwiththedrivepedal.The
furtherdownthepedalisdepressed,the
fasterthetractorwill travel.Thepedal
willreturntoitsoriginalpositionwhenit'._
notdepressed.
