Overview

The Müeller UltraPop Hot Air Popcorn Popper, Model No: PP-100, is a household appliance designed to make popcorn using hot air, eliminating the need for oil, shortening, butter, or margarine in the popping chamber. This method ensures a healthier snack and prevents damage to the unit. The device is compact, with dimensions of 13x19x29 cm (5.1x7.5x11.4 inches), and is constructed from BPA-free plastic. Its popper chamber has a capacity of 60 g (2.1 oz) of popcorn kernels.

Function Description:

The UltraPop Hot Air Popcorn Popper operates by circulating hot air around popcorn kernels in its popping chamber, causing them to pop. It features a simple Power On/Off switch for operation. The popping cycle typically lasts about 2 minutes, and the unit is designed to shut off automatically to prevent overheating. A measuring/butter spoon is included, which also serves as a cover for the popping chamber. This spoon can be used to melt butter with the heat generated by the popper, allowing users to add melted butter and seasonings to their popped corn after the popping cycle is complete.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Model No: PP-100
  • Dimensions: 13x19x29 cm / 5.1x7.5x11.4 inches
  • Material: BPA-free plastic
  • Popper chamber capacity: 60 g / 2.1 oz
  • Power: Operates on 120V, AC ONLY.
  • Safety Features: Polarized plug, automatic shut-off for overheating prevention.

Usage Features:

  1. Preparation: Before first use, the popper cover and butter melter should be washed in warm soapy water, rinsed, and dried. The popper base should be wiped with a damp cloth. The base should never be immersed in water or other liquid.
  2. Loading: Place the popper base on a flat, dry surface. Remove the cover and measuring/butter spoon. Fill the measuring spoon with popcorn kernels until it is level, but do not overfill. Pour the kernels into the popping chamber, ensuring not to fill past the designated fill line to prevent overheating, smoking, or scorching.
  3. Operation: Place the cover and measuring/butter spoon back onto the popper. Position a wide-rimmed, heat-resistant bowl beneath the popping chute to collect the popcorn. Plug the power cord into a 120V AC outlet. Press the Power On/Off switch to the "On" position (marked "I").
  4. Butter Melting (Optional): To melt butter, cut 2-3 tablespoons of room temperature butter into 4-6 equally sized pieces and place them into the measuring butter spoon. Refrigerated butter is not recommended as it may not melt completely during the short popping cycle.
  5. Completion: Popcorn will begin to pop, with the cycle lasting approximately 2 minutes. The popping cycle is considered complete when there is a 5-second gap between kernels popping. After the cycle, press the Power On/Off switch to the "Off" position (marked "O").
  6. Serving: Unplug the popper and allow it to cool for at least one minute before removing the measuring/butter spoon and cover. The popper will be hot, so hot pads or oven mitts should be used when handling hot parts. If butter was melted, pour it over the popped corn and add salt or other seasonings as desired.
  7. Subsequent Use: If more popcorn is desired immediately, unplug the popper, use hot pads or oven mitts to invert the popper and remove any unpopped kernels or loose popcorn. If the butter spoon was used, wash it, dry it, and replace it. It is not recommended to run more than 2 popping cycles consecutively; allow at least 15 minutes for the appliance to cool off after the second cycle.
  8. Yield: 1/2 cup of popcorn kernels will produce between 3 and 4 quarts of popped popcorn.
  9. Important Restrictions: DO NOT place oil, butter, salt, or anything other than popcorn kernels into the popping chamber. DO NOT use microwave popcorn. The measuring/butter spoon should not be removed during the popping cycle, and the popper should never be run without the cover and measuring spoon in place.

Maintenance Features:

  • Cleaning After Each Use: Unplug the appliance and allow it to cool completely with the measuring spoon and cover in place before cleaning.
  • Removable Parts: Remove the cover and measuring/butter spoon from the popper base. Separate these two parts. Wash them in warm, soapy water, rinse, and dry thoroughly. These parts are NOT dishwasher safe.
  • Popper Base: Use a soft, damp cloth to wipe the exterior of the popper and the popcorn chute. Dry thoroughly.
  • Immersion Warning: NEVER immerse the corn popper base in water or other liquid.
  • Abrasives: Do not use any abrasive cleansers or scrubbers on any part of the popper.
