System Wire & Fuse Sizing Specications
Compressor Rated Load Amps (RLA) and Locked Rotor Amps (LRA) Data
Standard and Total Access™ Modules
RLA/LRA
1. Wiring Sizing: Minimum Circuit Ampacity (MCA) MCA = (1.25 x RLA1*) + RLA2 + RLA3
2. Fuse Sizing: Maximum Fuse (MF), Type RK5 Fuse
MF= (2.25 x RLA1*) + RLA2 + RLA3
Where MF does not equal a standard size fuse, the next larger size fuse should be used.
NOTES:
A. *RLA1 = RLA of the largest compressor in the system. RLA2 & RLA3 = RLA of the other compres-
sors in the system.
B. Total system Minimum Circuit Ampacity (MCA) shall not exceed 500A.
C. Wire sizing is based on the National Electrical Code (NEC) rating for 75°C copper wire, with 3
wires per conduit.
D. Wiring distance from branch circuit shall not exceed 100 feet.
* MS010X units are also available for single-phase power (230/1/60 )
applications and have an RLA of 19.5 amps and LRA of 178 amps.
DANGER: To avoid the risk of electrical shock, personal injury or death, disconnect all
electrical power to the unit before performing any maintenance or service. The unit may have
more than one electrical power supply. Assume all electrical wires are live, energized wires. Use
lockout/tagouts.
