What to do if Napoleon Elevation EX36NTEL appliance functions but does not respond to receiver/remote?
    • D
      Daniel SchaeferAug 10, 2025
First, make sure the appliance is being operated by the same device that turned it on. Remote controls only work if the appliance was turned on by remote, and receiver controls only work if the appliance was turned on by the receiver. If you are still experiencing issues, the error may be with synchronizing, so reset the receiver and remote. Check if wire connector pins are bent, and straighten them if needed. If the valve wiring is damaged, replace the valve.

Why is my Napoleon Indoor Fireplace pilot sparking but not lighting?
    • K
      Kathryn DudleyAug 16, 2025
Several factors could be preventing the pilot light from igniting. First, check that the incoming gas line ball valve is open and that the inlet pressure is within acceptable limits (not exceeding 13” W.C. / 32.4mb). If you're using propane, ensure the tank is full. The pilot supply line may contain air, so repeat the ignition process several times or purge the line. Also, verify correct polarity of wiring of thermocouple (if equipped) and ensure the pilot assembly/valve are properly grounded. If you have a receiver, reset the program by holding the reset button until you hear two beeps, then release and press the small flame button on the remote within 20 seconds until you hear another beep. If none of these steps work, the receiver or valve may need to be replaced.

What to do if Napoleon Elevation EX36NTEL pilot will not light and makes noise with no spark at pilot burner?
    • M
      matthew55Aug 20, 2025
If the pilot won't light and there's noise without a spark, it could be due to wiring issues such as short, loose, or damaged connections, which can cause poor flame rectification. Try to reprogram receiver code. Also, verify the valve and pilot assembly are properly grounded. Clean the sensor rod with a green Scotch-Brite™ pad to remove any contamination. Verify continuity with multimeter with ohms set at the lowest range. If problems persist, replace the receiver or troubleshoot the system with the simplest on/off switch.

    Kevin SmithAug 25, 2025
Why are the flames very aggressive on my Napoleon Elevation EX36NTEL?
    • C
      Cameron HeathAug 26, 2025
Aggressive flames may be due to the door being ajar; ensure it is secured properly. Alternatively, the venting action may be too great. Check to ensure venting is properly sealed or restrict vent exit with restrictor plate.

What to do if Napoleon Elevation EX36NTEL Indoor Fireplace burner continues to spark and pilot lights but main burner does not light?
    • J
      James RiveraAug 30, 2025
If the burner continues to spark and the pilot light is on, but the main burner doesn't light, verify that the ON/OFF switch is in the “I” position, which denotes on. Also, verify that the “COM” switch is plugged into the front of the control module.
