Overview

The NETTA 7.2V Grass Shear and Hedge Trimmer is a versatile cordless tool designed for trimming hedges, shrubs, and grass in residential gardens. It is not intended for use in public parks, sports grounds, agriculture, or forestry. Misuse of the product will void the warranty.

Technical Specifications:

  • Rated Power: 7.2V
  • Net Weight: 1.2KG
  • Charge Time: 3-5 hours
  • No-Load Operation Time: 45 minutes
  • Battery: 7.2V lithium-ion (cordless)
  • Maximum Stem Thickness for Trimming: 7.5mm / 0.29 inches

Product Overview:

The device features an ON/OFF switch, a charging socket, an ergonomic grip, and a lock-off button. It comes with a shank cover, a grass shearing blade, and a shrubber blade. A safety lock (8) is present and must be pulled out before changing blades.

Usage Features:

  • Blade Installation/Replacement: To install or replace a blade, place the device on a hard surface, turn it upside down, and gently push the blade shield down with one hand while moving it with the other (Photo 3). Gently remove the old blade by raising its tip (Photo 4). Insert the required blade into the engine housing (Photo 5). Align the centre-edge tooth roll with the gear in the centre of the device to ensure the blade lies flat on the housing and fits appropriately (Photo 6). Once the blade is in position, replace the blade shield (Photo 7). Move the blade shield forward until it clicks into place (Photo 8). The device is then ready for use. It may be necessary to manually move the blade or tooth roller to align them with the tooth wheel. When mounting the blade, first push the safety lock into the device. The safety barrier should be disconnected before maintenance and cleaning.
  • Charging: Before first use, fully charge the battery using only the original charger. Connect the power cord plug with the charger into the charging jack and then plug the charger into an AC outlet, ensuring voltage compatibility. During charging, a red LED will be on. The recommended charging time for a completely discharged battery is 5 hours and 30 minutes. The battery is fully charged when green LEDs are on. After charging, first remove the charger from the AC outlet, then unplug it from the charging socket. The handle may heat up during charging, which is normal; wait for it to cool before use.
  • Switching On/Off: To switch the tool on, slide the lock-off button and push the ON/OFF button simultaneously. Release the lock-off button. To switch the tool off, release the ON/OFF switch. The blades will continue to move for a short period; wait until they stop completely. Do not touch or attempt to stop moving blades.
  • Operating: Always hold the tool away from you and stand in a safe, stable position. When cutting, ensure blades do not contact objects like wires, metal parts, or stones, as this can damage the mechanisms. If the blade becomes blocked by a foreign object, immediately turn off the tool.
  • Trimming Shrubs and Hedges: Cut stems up to 7.5mm/0.29 inches thick. Move the tool evenly along the cutting line to ensure stems enter the blades directly. The double-sided cutting part of the blade allows trimming in both directions. After use, place the cover on the blades.
  • Shearing Grass: Move the grass shears along the lawn edge, avoiding contact with hardened surfaces or stones. After use, place the cover on the blades.

Maintenance Features:

  • Regular Checkups: Before each use, check cables for bursts, snaps, or damage to the power plug. Ensure all knobs function correctly.
  • General Cleaning: Disconnect the charger plug from the power source before making any adjustments, changing accessories, or storing the tools. Switch off the tool and allow it to cool down before cleaning. Before each use, inspect the device for obvious defects, ensuring covers and guards are undamaged and correctly fitted. Clean the tool with a dry cloth or compressed air. Carefully clean the blades after each use by rubbing them with an oil-soaked cloth or spraying them with a metal spray. Blunt, bent, or damaged blades must be replaced with original spare parts. Store the blades in their cover. Clean the tool immediately after each use. Ensure water does not enter the tool. Do not use alkaline, abrasive, or disinfectant chemicals, as they may damage the surface.
  • Storage: Store the tool in a dry, aired location out of reach of children. Protect the tool against vibrations and shock during transport.
  • Repair: This tool contains no user-serviceable parts. Do not attempt to repair it yourself. For spare parts or repair service, contact NETTA customer support.
  • Battery Care: Never attempt to open or modify the battery. Do not incinerate the battery or device when ready to be discarded.
  • Safety Precautions: Always follow the instruction manual and safety checks. This is not a toy; keep children away. DO NOT modify the product. Keep work areas clean and well lit. Do not operate tools in explosive atmospheres. Before using, check the rating label and voltage information. Always connect the device to a socket with a Residual Current Device (RCD). If unsure, seek advice from a certified electrician. The appliance must not be immersed in liquid. Do not use power tools in wet or damp conditions. Do not overload power tools; match the tool to the task. Do not use if the on/off switch is damaged. Check that moving parts operate smoothly and are not cracked or damaged.
  • Personal Safety: Use personal protective equipment, including eye and ear protection. Do not wrap the device in cloth or other material to suppress noise, as this hinders ventilation, potentially causing fire or burns. Wear soft gloves to prevent discomfort. Hold the power tool firmly to reduce vibration. Ensure the switch is off before connecting to a power source, picking up, or carrying the tool. Remove adjusting keys or wrenches before turning the tool on. Do not overreach; maintain proper balance. Do not wear loose clothing or jewellery. Take breaks if you feel vibration-related discomfort. DO NOT operate with a damaged cord or plug, or if the appliance malfunctions or is damaged; return it to an authorized service facility. If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, an authorized service agent, or a qualified technician. The use of unapproved accessories is not recommended. Do not let the cord hang over table edges or touch hot surfaces. Do not place on or near hot gas/electric burners or in a heated oven. Unplug from the outlet when not in use and before cleaning.
