ACCIDENTPREVENTION
Mostaccidentsorinjuriesthatoccurinworkshopsaretheresultofnon-observanceofsimpleandfundamentalsafety
regulations.Forthisreason,INMOSTCASESTHESEACCIDENTSCANBEAVOIDEDbyforeseeingpossible
causesandconsequentlyactingwiththenecessarycautionandcare.
Accidentsmayoccurwithalltypesofmachine,regardlessofhowwellthemachineinquestionwasdesignedand
built.
Acarefulandjudiciousservicetechnicianisthebestguaranteeagainstaccidents.
Preciseobservanceofthemostbasicsafetyruleisnormallysufcienttoavoidmanyseriousaccident

Generalguidelines
•
Carefullyfollowspeciedrepairandmaintenanceprocedures.
•
Donotwearrings,wristwatches,jewellery,unbuttonedorloosearticlesofclothingsuchas:ties,tornclothing,
scarves,openjacketsorshirtswithopenzipsthatmayremainentangledinmovingparts.Itisadvisedtowear
approvedsafetyclothing,e.g.:non-slipfootwear,gloves,safetygoggles,helmets,etc.

Donotcarryoutrepairoperationswithsomeonesittinginthedriver’sseat,unlessthepersonisatrainedtechnician
whoisassistingwiththeoperationinquestion.

Donotoperatethemachineoruseanyoftheimplementsfromdifferentpositions,otherthanthedriver’sseat.
•
Donotcarryoutoperationsonthemachinewiththeenginerunning,unlessspecicallyindicated.
•
Stoptheengineandcheckthatthehydrauliccircuitsarepressure-freebeforeremovingcaps,covers,valves,etc.
•
Allrepairandmaintenanceoperationsmustbecarriedoutusingextremecareandattention.
•
Servicestepsandplatformsusedintheworkshoporelsewhereshouldbebuiltaccordingtostandardaccident
preventionregulations.

Disconnectthep.t.o.fromtheandlabelallcontrolstoindicatethatthemachineisbeingserviced.Anypartsthat
aretoberaisesmustbelockedinposition.

Brakesareinoperativewhenmanuallyreleasedforrepairormaintenancepurposes.Useblocksorsimilardevices
tocontrolthemachineintheseconditions.
•
Onlyusespeciedtowingpointsfortowingthemachine.Connectpartscarefully.Makesurethatallpinsand/or
locksaresecuredinpositionbeforeapplyingtraction.Neverremainnearthetowingbars,cablesorchainsthat
areoperatingunderload.
