addition, there are interlocks designed to interrupt laser operation if the
laser may be damaged. The interrupts are
Laser head cover opened
Control panel detached
Laser head umbilical detached
Cooling water temperature too high
Cooling water flow too low
Remote interlock interrupted (if installed)
The Tempest has an exit beam shutter located on the laser head housing.
The laser beam may be blocked by closing the shutter. Do not use the
exit beam shutter as a method of blocking the beam for more than a few
seconds. Turn off the laser if the output beam is not needed for longer
time periods.
