xvi VISUAL TOUR
Monitor auto turn-off
There are two small sensors directly above the monitor. When you look through the
viewfinder the D60 senses something is close to the back of the camera and turns
off the monitor. This helps you avoid having to look through the viewfinder with a
bright screen under your eye. When you move your face away from the monitor it
turns back on.
Auto monitor rotation
The shooting information on the monitor is nicely laid out, but for vertical pictures you’d
have to turn your head to read the information. Not so on the D60! When you turn the
camera to the vertical orientation the shooting information display automatically rotates
as well. You can change settings such as your exposure mode, aperture, shutter
speed, and exposure compensation.
Vertical mode.
Horizontal mode.
