Type A: Mane/Fresne l fi eld with 3mm¢ circu l ar split - image range f inder spot and
12mm¢ reference circle. Rapid and accurate focusing. Excellent for general
photography .

Type 0: Overall fine-ground matte field. For specialized close-up photography and
for use with lon g lenses.

Type E: M att e /Fresnel fi eld wi th 3mm¢ fine-ground mane spo t, 12mm¢ reference
circle , and etched horizontal and vertical lines . Ideal for architectural photography.
Type G: Clear Fresnel field With extra-bright 12mmcp mlcropnsm focusing spot for
viewing and focusing in poor light. Fo ur mode ls (Gl- G4) are available corre-
sponding to sp ecific focal le n gth len ses. Depth of f ield cannot be observed.
Type H: Clea r Fr esnel f ield wi th micropr i sm focusing pattern over the ent i re screen
area. Permits rapid focusing on any part of the screen with optimum edge - Io-edge
br ig ht ness in poor light. Availab le in four models ( Hl-H4 ) corresponding to
particular focal length lenses.
Type J: Matte /Fresnel field with central microprism foc usi ng spot and 12mmcp
circle . Good for genera l photography.

Type K: Comb i nation of Type A and J screens. Matte/F r esnel field with 3mm¢ split -
image rangefinder spot surrounded by 1 mm-wide microprism doughnut. Rap id and
accurate foc us i ng for subjects with both straight lines and ill-defined contours.
Suitable for general photography.
Type l: Same as Type A screen bul wit h split-image rangefinder line at a 45° angle .
Best for subjects with horizontal l ines .
Type M: Fine - gro un d Fresnel field with 5. 5mmcp cl ear spot and double cross hair for
use in parallax focusing on aerial image, plus millimeter scales for calculation of
individual magnif i cation of objects or for measuring objects. Brilliant image in dim
light. Suitable for close-ups, photomicrography and other high-magnification
applications.
Type P: Same as Type K but with split-image rangelinder line at a 45° angle and
etched hor izont al and vertical lines as an aid to composition . Rapid and accurate
f ocusi ng for subject wi th hori z onta l or vertical lines or i ii - defined contours. Suitable
for general photography .
Type R: Same as Type A but with rangefinder prisms of sloping surfaces at a smaller
angle and horizontal and vertical lines to aid proper composition . VoJorks best with
lenses having maximum apertures from f/3 .5 to 1/5 .6.
Type T: Matte /Fr esnel field with split-image ran gefinder , 12mm¢ reference circle,
and hor izontal and vertical lines . Used when preparing slides lor TV broadcasts .
Dotted lines indica te standard TV screen format. So l id outline shows " safe action"
area, whereas broken lines indicate "safe title" area
Type U: Matte/Fresnel field with 3mm¢ fine-ground matte focusing spot and
12mm¢ reference circle. Utilizes the same matte field as Type S, but with lenses
longer than 10 0mm the image in the vie wf i nder is easier to see. With shorter focal-
length lenses, this screen is not suitable because of light fall-off in the corners .
