APPENDIX B: IP ADDRESS IN DHCP CLIENT MODE
WINDOWS 7/8
Go to Start / Control Panel (select Large/Small Icon). In the Control Panel, double-click on Network and
Sharing Center icon
Click Change Adapter Settings then double-click Local Area Connection/Wireless and click Properties
Click Continue. Select Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IP) and click Properties
Select the Obtain an IP address automatically and the Obtain DNS server address automatically radio
buttons
Click OK to finish the configuration
WINDOWS VISTA
Go to Start / Control Panel (in Classic View). In the Control Panel, double-click on Network and Sharing Center
icon
Click Manage Network connections then double-click Local Area Connection/Wireless and click Properties
Click Continue (Windows needs your permission to continue)
Select Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IP) and click Properties
Select Obtain an IP address automatically and Obtain DNS server address automatically radio buttons
Click OK to finish the configuration
WINDOWS XP
Go to Start / Control Panel (in Classic View). In the Control Panel, double-click on Network Connections
Double-click Local Area Connection/Wireless
In the LAN Area Connection/Wireless Status window, click Properties
Select Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and click Properties
Select Obtain an IP address automatically and Obtain DNS server address automatically radio buttons
Click OK to finish the configuration
WINDOWS 2000
Go to Start / Settings / Control Panel. In the Control Panel, double-click on Network and Dial-up Connections
Double-click LAN Area Connection/Wireless
In the LAN Area Connection/Wireless Status window, click Properties
Select Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and click Properties
Select Obtain an IP address automatically and Obtain DNS server address automatically radio buttons
Click OK to finish the configuration
