Overview

This document describes the NOD Air Fryer, model NOD0011, a kitchen appliance designed for cooking quick, healthy meals with a focus on air frying technology.

Function Description

The NOD Air Fryer utilizes a rapid air circulation system to cook food quickly and efficiently, offering a healthy alternative to deep-fried food by requiring no oil. This method helps food retain its nutritional value while still achieving the taste and texture of delicious fried food. The appliance is designed for household use and features simple controls for ease of operation.

Important Technical Specifications

  • Description: 5.8 QUART (5.5L) capacity, providing a generous frying capacity suitable for various meal sizes.
  • Rated Voltage: 220-240V~ 50-60Hz, ensuring compatibility with standard household electrical outlets in regions using this voltage.
  • Power Consumption: 1700 W, indicating the electrical power required for operation.

Usage Features

The NOD Air Fryer is equipped with a touch screen interface for intuitive control.

General Operation:

  1. Power On/Off: The appliance is turned on by tapping the power icon. To power off during operation, press and hold the power icon for 3 seconds.
  2. Default Mode: Upon powering on, the air fryer enters a default mode.
  3. Preset Programs: Users can select from various preset programs by tapping the menu icon until the desired food icon appears. The selected icon will flash, and the corresponding temperature and time settings will be displayed on the screen.
  4. Manual Temperature and Time Adjustment: The temperature and time can be manually set or adjusted using the arrow icons on the touch screen.
  5. Start Cooking: The air frying process begins by tapping the power icon.
  6. Shaking Ingredients: For certain ingredients, it is recommended to shake them halfway through the cooking time to ensure even cooking. This is done by pulling the pan out by the handle, shaking the contents, and then sliding the pan back into the appliance. The display will go into sleep mode when the pan is removed but will automatically resume the settings upon its return.
  7. Cooking Completion: A timer bell will ring when the selected cooking time has elapsed. The pan can then be removed and placed on a heat-resistant surface. If additional cooking time is needed, the pan can be reinserted, and the timer adjusted.
  8. Serving: Once the food is ready, the basket can be emptied into a bowl or onto a plate using tongs. It is important not to invert the pan, as excess oil may leak onto the ingredients. Sharp or metal utensils should be avoided to prevent scratching the nonstick surface.
  9. Continuous Cooking: The air fryer is instantly ready for preparing another batch of ingredients without the need for preheating.

Touch Screen Elements:

  • Food Preset Icons: Represent various food types for quick selection of optimized cooking settings.
  • Preheat Icon (PRE HEAT): Indicates the preheating function.
  • Fan Icon: Likely indicates the fan operation for air circulation.
  • Power Icon: Used to turn the appliance on and off, and to start the cooking process.
  • Temp./Timer Control (+/-): Allows for increasing or decreasing temperature (°C) and time (Min).
  • Pause/Continue (||): Used to pause or resume the cooking cycle.
  • Menu Icon: Used to navigate through preset programs.

Cooking Tips:

  • Smaller ingredients generally require less cooking time than larger ones.
  • Larger quantities of ingredients may require slightly longer cooking times.
  • Shaking smaller ingredients halfway through cooking optimizes the result and prevents uneven cooking.
  • Adding a little oil to potatoes can result in a crispier texture. Cook potatoes in the air fryer within minutes of adding oil.
  • Oven-ready snacks can also be cooked in the air fryer.
  • Pre-made dough can be used for quick and easy preparation of filled snacks, requiring less preparation time than homemade dough.
  • A baking tin can be placed in the air fryer basket for baking cakes or quiches, or for frying delicate or filled ingredients.
  • The air fryer can be used to reheat food at 150°C (302°F) for up to 10 minutes.
  • The pan and ingredients will be hot after air frying; avoid touching them. Steam may escape from the pan depending on the ingredients.

Troubleshooting: The manual provides a comprehensive troubleshooting guide for common issues such as:

  • Appliance not working (not plugged in, timer not set, pan not properly inserted).
  • Ingredients not done (too much in basket, low temperature, short preparation time).
  • Unevenly fried ingredients (needs shaking, specific ingredient types).
  • Snacks not crispy (used traditional deep fryer snack type, overfilled basket).
  • Difficulty inserting pan (overfilled basket).
  • White smoke (greasy ingredients, grease residues from previous use).
  • Unevenly fried fresh fries (poor quality potatoes).
  • Fresh fries not crispy (depends on oil and water content, not dried properly, cut too large).

Maintenance Features

Before First Use:

  1. Remove all packaging material, stickers, and labels.
  2. Thoroughly clean the pan and basket with hot water, liquid dishwashing soap, and a non-abrasive sponge.
  3. Wipe the inside and outside of the appliance with a damp cloth. Note: A "hot plastic" smell may occur during the first few uses, which is normal for new air fryers and will dissipate over time.

Cleaning (After Every Use):

  1. Unplug the appliance and allow it to cool completely before cleaning. Removing the pan can help the air fryer cool down faster.
  2. Do not use metal kitchen utensils or abrasive cleaning materials on the pan and non-stick coating basket to avoid damage.
  3. Wipe the exterior with a damp cloth.
  4. Clean the pan with hot water, liquid dishwashing soap, and a non-abrasive sponge. Degreasing liquid can be used for stubborn dirt.
  5. If dirt is stuck to the basket or bottom of the pan, fill it with hot water and liquid dishwashing soap to loosen the residue.
  6. Clean the inside of the appliance with hot water and a non-abrasive sponge.
  7. Clean the heating element with a cleaning brush to remove any food residues.

Storage:

  1. Unplug the appliance and allow it to cool down.
  2. Ensure all parts are clean and dry before storing.
