Standby mode
When the phone is ready for use, and no characters have been keyed in by the
user, the phone is in the standby mode.
Shows the signal strength of the cellular network at your current
location. The higher the bar, the stronger the signal.
Shows the battery charge level. The higher the bar, the more power there is in the battery.
xxxx Indicates the current cellular network in which the phone is being used.
Other essential indicators in the standby mode
In addition to the above three indicators, one or more of the following icons may be shown when the
phone is in the standby mode:
You have received one or several text or picture messages. See Messages (Menu 1) on page 46.
You have received one or several voice messages. See Voice messages on page 54.
The phone does not ring or beep when you receive a call since all tones have been set to Off.
However, your phone will alert, if you have set an alarm. See Tone settings on page 67.
The phones keypad is locked. See Keypad lock (Keyguard) on page 28 and Keyguard settings on
page 66.
