Power derating
The equipment requires sufficient ventilation to protect against overheating. If this cannot be guaranteed, this
results in power reduction (derating) of the frequency inverter. The ventilation is influenced by the type of
installation (motor-mounting, wall-mounting) and/or with motor-mounting: the air flow of the motor fan (continuous
slow speed  lack of cooling).
Insufficient cooling can result in power reduction of 1 - 2 power stages during S1 operation, for example, which
can only be compensated for by using a nominally bigger device.
