Operating Temperature Range:
- Outdoor Temperature: 64-109°F (18-43°C)
- Indoor Temperature: 62-90°F (17-32°C)
The appliance uses flammable refrigerants R290 or R32. Special warnings and instructions are provided for handling, installation, servicing, and disposal of units using these refrigerants, emphasizing the importance of avoiding ignition sources and ensuring proper ventilation.
Usage Features:
The air conditioner can be controlled via its control panel or a remote control.
- ON/OFF: Turns the unit on or off.
- Temperature Setting: Adjustable between 62°F (17°C) and 86°F (30°C) using UP/DOWN buttons.
- Fan Speeds: Four settings: Auto, Low, Med, High. In Dry mode, fan speed is automatically set to Low.
- Operating Modes:
- Auto Mode: Automatically selects cooling or fan-only operation based on set and room temperatures. Fan speed is not adjustable in this mode.
- Cool Mode: Runs fan and compressor to reach and maintain set temperature.
- Dry Mode: Operates as a dehumidifier, providing some cooling. Fan speed is automatically set to Low.
- Fan Only Mode: Circulates air without cooling. The vent should be open during this function. Displays actual room temperature.
- Sleep Feature: Increases the set temperature by 2°F/1 or 2°C after 30 minutes, and again after another 30 minutes. This new temperature is maintained for 6 hours before returning to the original setting.
- Energy Saver: Available in Cool, Dry, and Auto modes (Auto-Cooling and Auto-Fan only). The fan runs for 3 minutes after the compressor shuts off, then cycles on for 2 minutes at 10-minute intervals until cooling is needed again.
- Timer: Allows scheduling of Auto Start or Auto Stop programs up to 24 hours in advance.
- Follow Me (remote control feature): The remote acts as a thermostat, sending temperature readings from its location to the unit every 3 minutes for precise temperature control.
- Check Filter: An indicator light illuminates after 250 hours of operation to remind users to clean the air filter.
- Directional Air Louvers: Allows users to direct airflow Up/Down and Left/Right.
- Fresh Air Vent Control (10000-12000 BTU/H models): Three settings: Vent Closed (recirculates inside air), Vent Opened (draws fresh air), Vent & Exhaust Opened (exchanges air).
Maintenance Features:
- Cleaning the Air Filter: The air filter should be checked monthly. It can be washed with liquid dishwashing detergent and warm water, rinsed thoroughly, and dried, or vacuumed. The unit should NEVER be operated without the air filter, and hot water over 104°F (40°C) should not be used.
- Cleaning the Cabinet: The cabinet and front can be dusted with an oil-free cloth or washed with a damp cloth using warm water and mild liquid dishwashing detergent. Harsh cleaners, wax, or polish should not be used. Excess water should be wrung from the cloth before cleaning around controls to prevent damage.
- Winter Storage: If storing the unit for winter, it should be carefully removed from the window, covered with plastic, or returned to its original carton.
- Troubleshooting: The manual includes a comprehensive troubleshooting guide for common issues such as the unit not starting, insufficient cooling, ice formation, rapid cycling, and unusual noises.
Safety Instructions:
The manual emphasizes several safety precautions:
- Read all instructions before use.
- Use only for household purposes.
- Installation must follow instructions and use specified tools and parts.
- Do not use in areas exposed to combustible gases or liquids.
