ANNA-LOG SET UP INSTRUCTIONS
CONGRATULATIONS ON PURCHASING YOUR NOTTINGHAM ANALOGUE
TURNTABLE.
WE RECOMMEND THESE INSTRUCTIONS BE READ AT LEAST ONCE BEFORE SETUP
BEFORE ANYTHING ELSE YOU MUST MAKE SURE THE SURFACE FOR YOUR ANNA-LOG
TURNTABLE IS STRONG ENOUGH TO TAKE THE OVERALL WEIGHT, WHICH IS IN EXCESS
OF 40 KG AND THAT THE SURFACE IS LEVEL.
WITH CARE UNPACK BOTH BOXES AND MAKE SURE ALL COMPONENTS ARE PRESENT PER
ATTACHED CHECK LIST.
STEP 1:- POSITION THE BASE PLINTH ONTO YOUR FLAT LEVEL SURFACE, ADD ‘ANNA-LOG’ TO
BASE PLINTH. (PHOTO 1)
LEVEL YOUR TURNTABLE AS REQUIRED, USING THE 4 ADJUSTABLE FEET. USE SPIRIT
LEVEL PROVIDED.
NOTE: - BEARING EARTHING LEAD. (THIS IS USUALLY ATTACHED AT THE FACTORY)
THIS SHOULD BE CONNECTED TO THE EARTHING POINT ON YOU AMPLIFIER.
STEP 2:- POUR 2 CAPS(2.0ml) OF OIL INTO BEARING WELL. THE PIPPETTE SUPPLIED CAN
BE USED FOR EASE OF APPLICATION (PHOTO 2)
STEP 3:- GENTLY LOWER THE SPINDLE INTO THE BEARING AND ALLOW TO SETTLE FOR A FEW
MINUTES (PHOTO 3)
STEP 4:- INSERT 2 LIFTING HANDLES INTO THE HOLES PROVIDED ON TOP OF THE PLATTER. WITH
CARE LOWER PLATTER ONTO SPINDLE (PHOTO 4)
REMOVE LIFTING HANDLES AND RETAIN FOR FUTURE USE.
STEP 5:- PLACE THE THREE DAMPING RINGS AROUND THE PLATTER AND PLACE THE GRAPHITE
MAT ON TOP OF THE PLATTER. (PHOTO 5)
STEP 6:- ALIGN THE 2 DRIVE BELT GROOVES OF THE PULLEY WITH THOSE OF THE PLATTER.
THE MOTOR CASSETTE SLIDES UP AND DOWN IN ITS HOUSING TO ALLOW FOR THIS. DO
NOT PRESS ON PULLEY TO MAKE THESE ADJUSTMENTS. ONLY USE THE OUTER OF
MOTOR CASSETTE AS MOTOR SPINDLE DAMAGE MAY OCCUR. (PHOTO 6)

Summary

Turntable Setup Guide

Step 1: Position and Level Base Plinth

Place the base plinth on a level surface and adjust the feet using a spirit level. Connect the bearing earthing lead to the amplifier.

Step 2: Add Bearing Oil

Pour 2 caps (2.0ml) of oil into the bearing well using the supplied pipette.

Step 3: Insert Spindle

Gently lower the spindle into the bearing well and allow it to settle for a few minutes.

Step 4: Mount Platter

Insert lifting handles and carefully lower the platter onto the spindle. Retain handles for future use.

Step 5: Place Damping Rings and Mat

Place three damping rings around the platter and position the graphite mat on top.

Step 6: Align Drive Belt Grooves

Align pulley grooves with platter grooves by adjusting the motor cassette. Avoid pressing the pulley.

Step 7: Attach Tonearm

Attach your choice of tonearm to the armboard. Refer to specific arm instructions for alignment and height adjustment.

Step 8: Connect Motor Power

Plug the motor unit into the power supply connector and switch on. A light indicates power; slight pulley vibration is normal.

Step 9: Use Timing Strobe

Place the timing strobe on the platter, start it, and use an electronic strobe for precise speed adjustment.

Care and Maintenance

Initial Run-in and Oil Change

Allow spindle and bearing to bed in. Change oil every 2 years by repeating steps 2 to 4.

Cleaning and Storage

Wash drive belt and damping rings. Clean turntable with a lint-free cloth. Avoid polish. Cover when not in use.

Stylus Cleaning

Clean the stylus from back to front using methylated spirits and a small brush.

Additional Information

Turntable accommodates an extra armbase. Contact dealer for further assistance.
