The device described in this manual is the Nuna TRVL™ stroller, designed to provide a convenient and safe means of transport for children. It is a lightweight and compact stroller, suitable for use with children up to 22.7 kg maximum. The stroller is also compatible with KLIK plus infant carriers, in which case the infant carrier's instruction manual should be consulted for child usage requirements.
Function Description
The Nuna TRVL stroller serves as a portable and adjustable seating solution for infants and toddlers. Its primary function is to safely transport a child while offering features that enhance comfort for the child and ease of use for the parent. The stroller features a canopy for sun and weather protection, a reclinable backrest for different seating positions, and a storage basket for carrying essentials. It is designed for easy folding and unfolding, making it convenient for travel and storage. The stroller also includes a harness system to secure the child, a brake system for stationary safety, and swivel locks for the front wheels to enhance maneuverability or stability on uneven surfaces.
Usage Features
The TRVL stroller offers several features designed for practical and safe use:
- Opening the Stroller: To open the stroller, the storage latch is released, the handle is rotated up, and the frame is opened until a "click" sound confirms it is fully latched. It is crucial to ensure the stroller is completely latched open before use.
- Storage Basket: The storage basket hooks onto the rear legs on both sides, providing space for carrying items. It is important not to overload the basket, with a maximum capacity of 4.5 kg, to prevent hazardous, unstable conditions.
- Wheels: The rear wheels are inserted into the rear legs until a "click" confirms assembly, and their secure attachment should be verified by pulling on them. To remove them, a release button is pressed. Similarly, the front wheels are inserted into the front legs until a "click" confirms assembly, and their secure attachment should be checked. A release button allows for their removal.
- Canopy: The canopy slides onto the stroller mounts until a "click" confirms assembly. It can be pulled forward to open and pushed back to close. For ventilation, the canopy window cover can be flipped up, and the rear panel can be unzipped. The canopy should not be removed while the stroller is in use.
- Armbar: The armbar aligns with the armbar mounts and inserts until it clicks into place. While recommended for use, it is not a restraint device, and the child must always be secured with the harness. The armbar can be rotated by pressing a release button on one side and rotating from the other. To remove it, both release buttons are pressed, and the armbar is pulled out.
- Securing Your Child: The parking brake must be engaged when placing or removing a child. The child must always be secured with the harness to prevent falling or sliding out. The harness should be adjusted snugly, with the space between the child and the shoulder harness being about the thickness of one finger. The crotch combination with the waist belt should always be used, and shoulder harnesses are also suggested. The harness buckles are released by pushing the center button, and the clips are removed. The shoulder and hip buckles are then connected and secured to the buckle latch on both sides. The harness is tightened by pulling the adjustment straps and the waist adjustment straps. The upper shoulder harness buckles can be moved up and down for adjustment.
- Recline: To raise the recline, the recline adjustment straps are pulled, and the seat is pushed up. To recline the backrest, the recline adjustment handle is squeezed, and the backrest is pulled down.
- Tether Strap: A tether strap is provided to prevent the stroller from rolling away inadvertently. The user's hand should be through the loop to easily control the stroller.
- Calf Support: The calf support has two positions. It is raised by lifting it up. To lower it, adjustment buttons on the underside are pressed, and the support is pushed down.
- Brake: To lock the rear wheels, the brake lever is stepped down. Stepping down on it again unlocks the wheels. The brake should always be applied when the stroller is stopped, and the stroller should be pushed slightly to ensure the brake is engaged.
- Front Swivel Locks: These locks are recommended for use on uneven surfaces. Turning the front swivel lock locks the front wheel, and turning it back unlocks it.
- Folding the Stroller: Before folding, ensure the front swivel locks are unlocked and the snap on each side is fastened. The canopy is folded. The lock against the handle is slid, and the folding button is squeezed. The top of the stroller is then folded down. The frame can fold and stand on its own. Finally, the storage latch is rotated. Once folded, the stroller can be carried with its strap.
- Accessories:
- Carry Bag: The folded stroller is placed into the carry bag, and the drawstring is closed. The armbar should be detached before placing the stroller in the bag.
- KLIK plus infant carrier: For assembly and usage, refer to the infant carrier instruction manual. To attach, the stroller seat is reclined to the lowest position, the canopy is pushed to the rear, and the armbar is attached. The infant carrier lock is released, and then closed to secure the infant carrier on the stroller. It is important to pull up on the infant carrier to ensure it is fully locked. The infant carrier must be removed before folding the stroller. To remove, the infant carrier lock is released, the release handle is squeezed, and the infant carrier is lifted up.
- Rain Cover: To assemble, the rain cover is placed over the stroller seat. Ventilation should always be checked, especially in hot weather. The rain cover must be cleaned and dried before folding. The stroller should not be folded with the rain cover assembled, and a child should not be placed in the stroller with the rain cover on during hot weather.
Maintenance Features
Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and safety of the TRVL stroller:
- Cleaning: The frame, plastic parts, and fabric should be cleaned with a damp cloth. Abrasives, bleach, or silicon lubricants should not be used, as silicon lubricants can attract dirt and grime. The stroller should not be stored in a damp place.
- Wheels: The stroller wheels should be cleaned regularly with water to remove any dirt.
- Post-Rain Use: After use in rainy weather, the product should be wiped off with a soft, absorbent cloth.
- Fabric Care: Refer to the care label attached to the fabric for specific washing and drying instructions. It is normal for fabric to show color fading from sunlight and general wear and tear over extended use.
- Parts: For safety reasons, only original Nuna parts should be used for replacements.
- Regular Checks: It is essential to regularly check that all functions operate properly. If any parts are torn, broken, or missing, the product should be stopped from being used immediately.
