Clean
the
crankcase
breather
cap
and
valve
assembly,
and
the
breather
tube
baffle
in
a
solvent
every
200
operational
hours.
To
remove
breather
cap
and
valve
assembly,
remove
breather
hose
clamp
and
breather
tube
clamp.

Use
a
fine
wire
to
clean
the
small
hole
in
the
short
vacuum
tube
which
fits
into
the
hole
in
the
top
of
the
engine
intake
manifold.
Do
not
enlarge
this
hole.
If
there
is
tension
on
the
external
spring
when
the
unit
is
operating
at
no
load
or
light
load,
it
may
be
due
to
improper
adjustment,
restricted
hole
in
the
small
vacuum
tube,
or
a
leak
in
the
booster
diaphragm
or
gasket.

FUEL
FILTER

Every
100
hours,
remove
the
fuel
sediment
bowl,
empty,
clean
and
dry
(Figure
21).
Remove
the
screen
and
clean
any
particles
trapped.
When
replacing
the
sediment
bowl,
be
sure
the
screen
and
gaskets
are
in
place.

GENERATOR
MAINTENANCE
The
generator
normally
needs
little
care
other
than
a
periodic
check
of
the
brushes,
commutator
and
collector
rings.
If
a
major
repair
job
on
the
generator
should
become
necessary,
have
the
equipment
checked
by
a
competent
electrician
who
is
thorough¬
ly
familiar
with
the
operation
of
electric
generating
equipment.
