  • Safety Features: The machine is designed with safety in mind, including interlock switches on covers to prevent access to hazardous parts during operation. It requires proper grounding and advises against touching moving parts while in use.

Maintenance Features:

The manual emphasizes the importance of regular maintenance for optimal operating performance and to prevent malfunctions. Users are advised to contact their machine supplier for required service schedules. Key maintenance-related points include:

  • Cleaning: Before clearing any stoppage, ensure machine mechanisms have come to a complete stop.
  • Power Cord Management: Ensure the power cord is not routed over sharp edges, trapped, or strained, and that the wall receptacle is free from obstruction.
  • Ventilation: Do not cover any vent openings to prevent overheating.
  • Professional Servicing: Covers enclose hazardous parts that should only be accessed by properly trained service personnel. Any damaged or non-functioning components should be reported to service immediately.
  • Supplies: Use only Pitney Bowes approved supplies, particularly aerosol dusters, and follow safety precautions on duster labels.
  • Earthing: The machine must be earthed, and the socket outlet should be near and easily accessible.
  • Noise Level Warning: When running at sound levels over 80dBA (First Action Level), operator hearing protection must be provided.
