Vehicle detection is ensured by a combination of
microwave and ultrasonic wave.
A microwave sensor can detect the presence of a
vehicle based on FMCW (Frequency-modulated
continuous-wave).
Detection of objects other than a vehicle can be
reduced (patent pending).
Built-in heater reduces snow on the sensor
(automatically activates based on the outside air
temperature).
Not affected by underground obstructions, this
product is installed above ground.
Reduced installation time as access road for
vehicle is not closed, as no civil engineering
works is required..

Questions and Answers

Why is my Optex OVS-01GT Accessories vehicle sensor not detecting vehicles?
    • J
      Jason ThompsonAug 18, 2025
Several factors might cause this issue. Ensure the sensor is properly powered with a 12-24VDC connection and that the voltage is correct. Verify that calibration was performed correctly. The sensor's direction may be misaligned, so adjust it for accurate detection. Background interference can also be a factor; try recalibrating. If the sensing distance is too short, increase it, or enhance the sensitivity if it's too low.

How to stop Optex OVS-01GT Accessories sensor from detecting vehicles outside the area?
    • D
      David BanksAug 20, 2025
This issue typically arises from settings being too sensitive or the sensor direction needing adjustment. Try reducing the sensitivity and the microwave sensing distance. Also, ensure the sensor (detection area) direction is correctly aligned.

What to do if Optex Accessories sensor stuck on detecting vehicle?
    • E
      evansthomasAug 23, 2025
This problem may occur due to obstructions in the detection area like humans, bicycles, large packages, weeds, snow, or irregularities on the ground. Remove any such objects; if that's not possible, reduce the sensing distance. Also, an object on the sensor surface, such as chewing gum, could be the cause. Ensure that calibration has been performed correctly and that the sensor (detection area) direction is properly adjusted.

How to fix Optex Accessories calibration error (red and blue blinking)?
    • M
      Mark LongAug 26, 2025
The sensor might be detecting a pedestrian or object (like a signboard) in the detection area. Remove any obstructions. If you cannot remove the object, reduce the ultrasonic sensing distance. The sensor could be installed too low, so ensure its bottom surface is 500mm (19.68in.) from the ground. A tilted pole or ground can also cause this issue; attach the sensor to a pole vertical to the ground. Adjust the sensor's direction to avoid nearby vehicles, walls, fences, and gate bars. Finally, check for and remove any objects on the sensor surface.
  • M
    Matthew FlemingAug 28, 2025
Why Optex OVS-01GT Accessories sensor detects gate bar?
    • S
      Steven SanchezAug 28, 2025
If the gate bar is detected, it might be because the sensitivity is too high, so try reducing it. The sensing distance could also be too long; reduce that as well. Ensure the sensor is installed at least 700mm (27.56in.) away from the gate bar. Adjust the sensor's direction to be parallel to the gate bar. Finally, if the gate bar has a curtain, remove it.

How to make Optex Accessories sensor detect vehicles earlier?
    • J
      James MckinneyAug 30, 2025
To improve the sensor's detection timing, try enhancing the sensitivity. If the sensing distance of the microwave is too short, increase it. Also, ensure the sensor mode is appropriate for your installation.

    Diane BarnesSep 1, 2025
Why does Optex OVS-01GT Accessories sensor detect pedestrians?
    • P
      parkercrawfordSep 1, 2025
If the sensor detects pedestrians, it could be due to the sensitivity being too high; try reducing it. Also, verify that the sensor mode is correct for the installation. The sensor may be detecting a crowd; take steps to prevent people from passing through the area.
  • B
    Brian SmithSep 4, 2025
Why Optex OVS-01GT sensor fails to logically multiply activation and vehicle detection?
    • G
      gina53Sep 4, 2025
This issue may arise if the sensitivity is too low, so try enhancing it. Also, ensure the sensor (detection area) direction is properly adjusted for correct detection. If the sensing distance of the microwave is too short, increase it.
  • P
    Paul ParkerSep 7, 2025
Why Optex OVS-01GT Accessories sensor detects pedestrian with baggage?
    • J
      Jeremiah WilkersonSep 7, 2025
The sensor might be detecting pedestrians with baggage because the sensitivity is too high; try reducing it. The sensor may not discriminate a large object from a vehicle. Take steps to prevent people from passing through the area.
  • B
    Bradley WallaceSep 9, 2025
Why Optex OVS-01GT Accessories sensor doesn't detect right-turning vehicle?
    • M
      martinhillSep 9, 2025
If a vehicle turning right after leaving the parking lot isn't detected, the sensitivity may be too low; try enhancing it. Also, check if the sensitivity boost timer has been disabled; enable it. If the time period of the sensitivity boost timer is too short, increase it.
