6. No ignition sources
• Any person working on a refrigeration system that includes working with
piping must not use / come into contact with any potential sources of
ignition that could result in a fire or explosion hazard. All possible sources
of ignition, including cigarette smoking, must be far enough away from
installation, repair, removal and disposal, during which the coolant may
be released into the surrounding area. Before carrying out work, the area
around the equipment must be examined to avoid the risk of flammability or
inflammation. This space shall be clearly marked with an inscription
„Smoking prohibited“.
7. Ventilated area
• Ensure that the refrigeration system is located in an open area or in a room
that is adequately ventilated, even before the installation or maintenance
of the equipment is opened by a competent person for repair and
maintenance.
8. Check the refrigeration equipment
• When replacing electrical components, use only those that are fit for
purpose and with the correct specification. The manufacturer‘s maintenance
and service instructions must always be followed. If in doubt, consult the
manufacturer‘s technical department.
The following controls shall apply to equipment using flammable
refrigerants:
• The actual refrigerant charge is in accordance with the size of the room
where the refrigerant containing parts are installed;
• Ventilation devices and outlets operate adequately and are not blocked;
• If an indirect cooling circuit is used, the secondary circuit must be checked
for coolant;
• The marking on the device remains visible and legible. Markings and
characters that are unreadable shall be corrected;
• The refrigerant pipe or components are installed in a position where they
are unlikely to be exposed to any substance that may
corrode refrigerant-containing components unless the components
are made of materials that are inherently resistant to corrosion or are
adequately protected against such corrosion.
9. Checking electrical equipment
• Repair and maintenance of electrical components includes initial safety
checks and component inspection procedures. If there is a fault that could
jeopardize safety, no electrical connection must be connected to the circuit.
If the error cannot be remedied immediately but needs to be continued, an
appropriate temporary solution is needed. This is important to notify the
owner of the equipment to ensure that all parties are informed and receive
advice on advice. Initial security checks include:
• Condensers are discharged: this should be done in a safe way to avoid
sparks;
• No electrical components and wiring were exposed during charging,
assembling, or cleaning the system;
• That there is a ground connection.
