Fiber Fusion Splicer has a function to check the initial position s of
the left and right motor automatically . If the location is wrong during
self-test, the splicer will switch to motor adjustment mode
automatically. Only after the location of motor is adjusted can the
splicer do fusion splic ing . Otherwise, when the position of coated
fiber clamp is found straying from the center obviously, i.e. it is
short er or long er when the fiber stripping length should be 1 6 mm.
We can enter into the motor adjustment through the menu to adjust
the original location of the left and right motor. The operation
processes under these two conditions are as follows:

a. Locate the 1 6 mm stripping length fiber properly and close
the shield.
b. Enter the test sub-menu, choose the "M otor A djust " item and
press the key . T he splicer will enter motor adjustment
status. The screen displays as shown in Fig A-4 .
c. Use the , and key to adjust motor's location
until the fiber is displayed on the screen.
