A new compactor must go through a break - in period and should not be run at maximum capacity at the
rst 25 hours. The operator must be observant, monitoring that all funcons are working correctly, and be-
ing aware of unpleasant sounds from the machine. Fine tuning the whole process must be carried out, unl
the compactor has reached it’s opmum capacity, based on the material being baled.
Slide bearing clearance is ght when the machine is new. This may result in increased temperature in
bearings. The slide bearings must be checked frequently during brake - in period. If the temperature rise in
some of the bearings, acvate the manual greaser from the control box to increase the amount of grease
supplied to bearings. Check: Each bearing, there must be a visible grease collar. Do also check the pressure
relief valve on the grease pump, there should be no visible grease present.
The tension of the elevator belt must be checked the rst 1-3-hours of operaon. Due to paint re-
mains in the belt segments, you might have to ghten up the belt.
In the case of having trouble lubricang some of the bearings, remove the hose belonging to the actu-
al bearing. Then mount a special nipple to get the bearing lubricated manually. Aer lubricang the bearing,
remount the hose which was dismounted earlier. Contact Orkel Compacon Ltd if this is relevant.
The elevator and sensor, which control the amount of material being fed into the chamber, must also be
controlled. An adjustment of this parameter could be carried out manually, please see chapter 3.1.4
Before the compactor le the factory, a careful quality control has been taken place. On the other
hand, this control has not bees done with the material you are proceeding. A need of complementary adjust-
ments and change in sengs is therefore foreseeable.
Chamber pressure control. The compactor is designed to stand huge stress and output, but do not exagger-
ate bale density. An exaggeraon in seng of chamber pressure will reduce the life span of the chamber.

The PTO - axle that comes along with this machine, is delivered with it’s own operator’s manual. Aach and
service the axle as described in the suppliers manual.
