The Osprey Atmos/Aura AG™ Series is a line of backpacks designed for adventurers, prioritizing functionality, durability, and innovation. These packs are engineered to provide a comfortable and stable carrying experience for various outdoor activities.
The Atmos/Aura AG™ Series backpacks are designed to efficiently carry gear for extended adventures. Their primary function is to distribute pack load comfortably and securely across the user's body, minimizing strain and maximizing mobility. The Anti-Gravity™ (AG) suspension system is central to this, featuring a continuous panel of lightweight mesh that extends from the top of the backpanel to the hipbelt. This seamless structure automatically contours to the body, providing an outstanding fit and unrestricted movement. The packs are equipped with multiple compartments and attachment points to organize and secure various types of gear, from sleeping bags and pads to trekking poles and ice tools.
To adjust the harness, first completely loosen the pack's load lifters and harness straps. Locate the harness adjustment cams on both sides behind the fabric wing where the yoke wraps around the edges of the backpanel. Push both cams down simultaneously with your thumbs from the top of the harness attachment point to open and release them. While pushing down, use your index and middle fingers to grab the lower portion of the fabric wing in front of the cams. With the cams released, slide both sides of the harness up or down to your desired torso fit location and then release the cams. Ensure the cams are lined up at the same height by comparing their position with the line markings printed on the backpanel behind the suspended mesh. If uneven, release and adjust one side to match the other.
The Fit-on-the-Fly™ hipbelt pad extends up to 6 inches (15 cm) to accommodate different hip sizes and provide a custom fit. To adjust, locate the adjustment icon on the hipbelt and slide a hand between the fixed hipbelt and the adjustable pad to separate the hook and loop closure. Slide the adjustable pad into position so that it wraps around your hipbones. Press firmly to re-engage the hook and loop closure. Extend the pads the same distance on both hipbelt wings so the pack weight is distributed evenly. Once adjusted, clip the hipbelt buckle across your hipbones and tighten.
Load the pack with 10-20 lbs (4-9 kg) of gear. Put on the pack, ensuring the hipbelt is centered and resting over the user's hipbones, with the hipbelt padding sitting half above and half below the hipbone. Buckle the hipbelt and tighten the hipbelt straps. Tighten the shoulder harness straps by pulling them down and back. Adjust and buckle the sternum strap 2 inches (5 cm) below the collarbone. Tighten the load lifters to transfer weight off the shoulders. The harness yoke should be 2 inches (5 cm) below the C7 vertebra (the bone that protrudes at the base of the neck when tilting the head down).
The Aura AG™ series features a unique suspended mesh located on the shoulders, backpanel, lumbar, and hipbelt that contours to a wide variety of body shapes and sizes for a custom fit. The pack shape is narrower and deeper, allowing greater freedom of movement and increased stabilization by lowering the load's position to a woman's center of gravity. The shoulder harness is designed with different curves for an anatomical fit for a woman's neck, shoulders, and chest. Women's hips are conically shaped with a larger difference between waist and hip measurements, so the hipbelts are shaped and angled to accommodate this difference, allowing for more comfortable load transfer and support.
