Resetting to the basic setting
In order to restore the joint to the basic setting please go through the following steps:
Basic setting of the brake
Close the load regulating screw L() clockwise until you feel a slight resistance. Open the load regulating screw 
full turns anticlockwise to restore the basic setting.
Basic setting of the pneumatic system
Close both valves (extension valve/flexion valve) clockwise until you feel a slight resistance. Open both valves by 
full turns anticlockwise to restore the basic setting.
SAFETY WARNINGS
Adapters used on the upper connection must always be tightened onto the respective modular part to the
specified torque. Use a torque wrench.
Adapters (e.g. tube adapters) used on the lower connection must be inserted down to the end stop in the tube
receiver of the knee joint.
Tighten the screw () on the tube receiver to a torque of  Nm and secure with Loctite. Use a torque wrench (
mm Allen).
Do not loosen any screws apart from those described above.
Do not use any lubricants (e.g. talc, silicone spray, oil) otherwise the brake function can not be guaranteed.
The load regulating screw L () must not be screwed beyond the brake body.
Observe all the above points, otherwise the guarantee becomes null and void.
MAINTENANCE
The joint must be serviced at least every  months!
Inspect:
the alignment
the screw connections
the suitability of the patient (e.g. max. body weight, degree of mobility)
loss of lubricant
damage to the joint and the adapter
soiling of the bushes
joint play AP + ML
extension stop ()
soiling with talc
CARE
Clean the join with a soft cloth moistened with a little mild benzene. Do not use any more aggressive cleaning
agents because these can damage the seals and bushes.
Do not use compressed air for cleaning. Compressed air can force dirt into the seals and bushes. This can lead to
premature damage and wear.
LIABILITY
In case of damage: Össur can only consider complaints accompanied by a copy of the delivery note or the Össur
invoice together with a detailed description of the reasons for returning the product.
A manufacturer can only be held liable for the failure of his own fittings. The manufacturer can only be held liable
beyond this when it can be proved that his fittings were causally responsible for the damage to or loss of function
of fittings from other manufacturers.
CE MARKING/COMPATIBILITY
All the modular components have been tested in compliance with EC Directive //EEC and bear the CE
marking.
