Location of helical coils with a stainless steel base mounting stud (3/8" x 24 threads).
Non-corrosive, silver-plated sockets engraved with band markings for operation selection.
Insulated 36" wire with banana plugs for 40m-10m; remove for 75m. Wind counter-clockwise.
Steel rod extending up to 5" from antenna shaft, used for fine SWR tuning.
Located at the top of the antenna shaft to hold the Stinger in place; finger tighten only.
Mount as far from roofline as possible. Ensure clean surface and solid electrical contact for optimal performance.
Mount high, away from metal. Use counterpoise if needed. Ground strap is crucial for performance.
Use high-grade 52-ohm RG-58cu coax with 95% shield. Avoid foam or solid conductor coax. Do not splice.
A solid electrical ground is critical; do not rely on a power cable's negative lead for adequate connection.
Install 1"-3" ground strap between frame bolt and ground lug. Ensure trunk lip is connected to auto body.
Run coax away from ECM and existing vehicle electrical systems for optimal performance.
Set the STINGER to the scribe point (3" from tip) for initial setup and testing.
Adjust STINGER length by 1/4 inch increments based on SWR readings at different frequencies.
Move Wander Lead for new bands; fine-tune by moving STINGER up or down.
Remove Wander Lead for 80m operation. Adjust STINGER for lowest SWR on 80m.
Wander Lead length is critical for 6m and 2m operation; do not alter its length.
Check connections, Wander Lead, and ensure adequate ground/counterpoise for performance.
Check antenna proximity to metal, recheck grounding, and retune STINGER for desired frequency.
Remove knurled locking nut to shake out condensation from the main shaft.
Wash with soapy water, wipe dry, apply non-abrasive car wax. Avoid acetone-based cleaners.
STEALTHplus model, covers 80m-75m-40m-30m-20m-17m-15m-12m-10m-6m-2m frequencies.
Feed impedance is 48-52 Ohms. Power handling is 100 watts PEP.
Brass, Stainless Steel, Urethane construction. Mounts via 3/8" x 24tpi male thread.
