To resolve this, remove the pilot hose and fitting from the brake valve, then use a 5/32-inch Allen wrench to remove the pilot orifice. Clean and install the pilot orifice tightly in the brake valve. Also, the friction brake may not be releasing due to a defective brake cylinder seal. Check the brake cylinder seal by disconnecting the swivel tee from the brake release port, connecting a hand pump with an accurate gauge to the fitting in the brake release port, applying 1000 PSI to the brake, closing the shut-off valve, and letting it stand for five minutes.
