Glossary
Glossary contains terms and explanations that are convenient to know when using your
computer.
+R / +RW
+R Data can only be written once. Data can also be added as long as the volume is within the
writing capacity of the disk. Offers higher compatibility with DVD-ROM than with +RW (see
below).
z On this computer, data can be written using B’s Recorder.
+RW Data can be written, erased, or rewritten. Data can be rewritten about 1,000 times.
z On this computer, you can write, erase, or rewrite data using B's Recorder/B's CLiP.
A
Access Point A relay point that links a computer to the Internet when connecting to a network. When
connecting to the Internet through a modem, the provider uses that relay point. When using a
wireless LAN (Î page 210), the access point also refers to the device that relays the
communication.
Account Refers to the authority used when logging on to Windows (Î page 202), using e-mail or
connecting to the Internet or other network. The Account is used to identify the user.
z In Windows, a separate account is allocated to each user, so Windows function settings,
such as the desktop screen, can be changed to suit each user.

z In the case of limited accounts, some functions and applications cannot be accessed.
