Do you have a question about the Panasonic CS-PZ35TKE and is the answer not in the manual?

Overview

This document provides service information for Panasonic air conditioners, specifically the CS-PZ25TKE, CS-PZ35TKE, CS-PZ50TKE, and CS-UZ60TKE indoor units, and their corresponding outdoor units (CU-PZ25TKE, CU-PZ35TKE, CU-PZ50TKE, CU-UZ60TKE). The manual is intended for experienced repair technicians and emphasizes safety precautions, particularly regarding the use of R32 refrigerant.

The air conditioners feature Inverter Technology, which allows for a wider output power range, energy saving, quick cooling, quick heating, and more precise temperature control. This technology automatically adjusts output power for maximum comfort by maintaining the set temperature through environmental temperature measurement and temperature shifting. The compressor operates at a frequency instructed by the microcomputer in the indoor unit, which judges conditions based on internal setting temperature and intake air temperature.

For Environmental Protection, these models use R32 refrigerant, which is a non-ozone depleting substance. The manual highlights that while R32 is a slightly flammable refrigerant, its global warming impact is smaller than R410A and R22, and its burning rate is low (10cm/second). Special tools and procedures are required for R32 refrigerant handling due to its higher working pressure compared to R22.

Usage Features:

  • Remote Control: Easy-to-use remote control with options for fan speed, operation mode (OFF/ON, Powerful/Quiet), temperature setting, airflow direction, timer, and clock.
  • Automatic Operation: The unit automatically determines the operating mode (Cool, Dry, Heat) based on indoor intake air temperature and remote control settings.
  • Quiet Operation: A dedicated "POWERFUL/QUIET" button on the remote control allows for reduced indoor unit operation sound.
  • Powerful Mode: This mode quickly reaches the desired room temperature by shifting the internal setting temperature lower (up to 2°C for Cooling/Soft Dry) or higher (up to 3.5°C for Heating) for 20 minutes.
  • Timer Control: Two sets of ON and OFF timers are available. The unit can start operating earlier than the set ON time to ensure a comfortable environment.
  • Random Auto Restart Control: After a power failure, the compressor will re-operate within 3-4 minutes (with 10 random patterns) once power resumes. This feature is not applicable during ON/OFF Timer settings.
  • Airflow Direction: Both vertical (horizontal vane) and horizontal (vertical vanes) airflow directions can be controlled automatically or manually via the remote.

Maintenance Features:

  • Breakdown Self Diagnosis Function: The unit includes a self-diagnosis function that displays error codes (three-digit alphanumeric codes) on the remote control and blinks the Timer LED when an abnormality occurs. This allows technicians to quickly identify and troubleshoot issues.
  • Protection Control:
    • Restart Control: Compressor will not turn on within 3 minutes of stopping.
    • Total Running Current Control: Adjusts frequency or stops the compressor if the outdoor unit's running current exceeds set values.
    • IPM (Power Transistor) Prevention Control: Protects against overheating (compressor stops if IPM temperature rises to 120°C) and DC peak current (stops if current exceeds set values).
    • Compressor Overheating Prevention Control: Regulates frequency or stops the compressor if discharge temperature exceeds 103°C.
