This document describes the Panasonic Air Conditioner, models CU-UE12ZKF-3, CU-UE18ZKF-3, CU-UE24ZKF-3 (Outdoor Units) and CS-UE12ZKF-3, CS-UE18ZKF-3, CS-UE24ZKF-3 (Indoor Units). It serves as an operating instruction manual, providing details on its functions, usage, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
Function Description:
The Panasonic Air Conditioner is designed to provide cooling, heating, dry, and fan-only modes for indoor climate control. It features an auto-restart function that memorizes user settings in case of power failure and resumes operation with those settings once power is restored. An emergency button is available for manual operation if the remote control is not functioning.
Operating Modes:
- Cooling Mode: Cools the room and reduces humidity. Activated by pressing the MODE button until the snowflake symbol appears. Temperature range: 16 °C to 28 °C.
- Heating Mode: Produces hot air. Activated by pressing the MODE button until the sun symbol appears. The appliance may activate a defrost cycle (2-10 minutes) during heating to clear frost from the condenser, during which the fan stops. A hot smart function ensures immediate hot air output.
- Dry Mode: Reduces room humidity. Activated by pressing the MODE button until the water drop symbol appears. An automatic cycle of cooling and fan mode is activated.
- Fan Mode: Provides air ventilation only. Activated by pressing the MODE button until the fan symbol appears.
- Auto Mode: Automatically sets the operating mode based on room temperature. Activated by pressing the MODE button until the "AUTO" symbol appears.
Key Features and Usage:
- Remote Control: The primary interface for controlling the unit. It displays battery status, selected mode, temperature, fan speed, timer settings, and various function indicators.
- Battery Installation: Requires two AAA or R03 batteries (lasts ~1 year). Ensure correct polarity. An additional manual switch for °C/°F and Cool/Heat modes might be present in the battery section of some remote models.
- Range: Effective within 8 meters of the indoor unit's receiver.
- Temperature Selection: Adjustable from 16 °C to 28 °C. Recommended operating range for energy saving is 26 °C to 28 °C.
- Fan Speed: Adjustable through AUTO, LOW, LOW-MID, MID, HIGH-MID, HIGH, and TURBO settings.
- Timer Function: Allows setting a specific time for the unit to turn ON (when off) or OFF (when on). Adjustable in half-hour increments (0-10 hours) and one-hour increments (10-24 hours).
- Swing Function: Controls the movement of louvers.
- Horizontal Louvers: Activated by pressing the SWING button, they swing up and down. Press again to stop at the desired angle.
- Vertical Louvers: Activated by pressing the SWING button, they swing left and right. Press again to stop at the desired angle. Manual adjustment of vertical louvers is not recommended for models with mechanical control.
- Self-Cleaning Function: Activated by pressing both SWING buttons simultaneously (available in selected models).
- TURBO Function: Provides quick cooling or heating by operating at the highest fan speed.
- MUTE Function: Reduces operating noise by setting the fan speed to the lowest setting. It is canceled if other fan-related functions (FAN, TURBO) are operated. Not available in DRY mode.
- ECO Function: Automatically adjusts operation to save energy. Available in both cooling and heating modes.
- DISPLAY Function: Toggles the LED display on the indoor unit panel ON/OFF.
- ANTI-MILDEW Function (Optional): Dries inner parts of the unit to prevent dew formation after running in COOL/DRY mode for more than 30 minutes. The unit will shut down after this function. Only available in DRY/COOLING mode.
- I-FEEL Function (Optional): Allows the remote control to sense the room temperature at its current location and send this signal to the unit, optimizing airflow for comfort. Deactivates after 2 hours.
- SELF CLEAN Function (Optional): Clears accumulated dirt and bacteria from the indoor evaporator. Runs for 30 minutes and returns to the previously set mode. Activated by turning off the indoor unit and pressing both SWING buttons simultaneously.
- GENTLE WIND Function (Optional): Closes vertical flaps and provides a comfortable gentle wind. Activated by long-pressing FAN and MUTE buttons together in COOL mode.
- HEALTH Function (Optional): Activates Ionizer, Plasma, Bipolar Ionizer, or UVC lights (depending on model availability). Activated by long-pressing SLEEP and DISPLAY buttons together.
- 8°C HEATING Function (Optional): Maintains room temperature at 8°C (46°F) to prevent freezing. Activated by long-pressing the ECO button for over 3 seconds. The unit will start heating if the room temperature is below 8°C (46°F) and return to standby when it reaches 9°C (48°F). Automatically canceled if room temperature exceeds 18°C (64°F).
- GEN Function (Optional): Activated by long-pressing the MUTE button for 3 seconds. Allows selection of general types L3-L2-L1-OF.
- Child Lock: Locks the remote control buttons. Activated by long-pressing MODE and TIMER buttons together.
