At the time of purchase, stylus is set to the stylus holder.
1 Connect your computer to a power outlet.

Open the cover.

Connect the computer to a power outlet.
The battery charging starts automatically.
CAUTION

Do not disconnect the AC adaptor until the rst-time opera-
tion procedure is completed.

When using the computer for the rst time, do not connect
any peripheral device (including wired LAN cable) except the
AC adaptor.
Handling the AC adaptor
Problems such as sudden voltage drops may arise during pe-
riods of thunder and lightning. Since this could adversely af-
fect your computer, an uninterruptible power source (UPS) is
highly recommended unless running from the battery alone.
NOTE

Note that the computer consumes electricity even when the
computer power is o󰀨. If the battery is fully charged, the bat-
tery will fully discharge in the following period of time:
When power is o󰀨 Approx. 13 weeks
In sleep Approx. 12 days
In hibernation Approx. 13 weeks
2 Turn on the computer.
Press the power switch (A) until the power indicator (B)
lights. (

CAUTION

Do not press the power switch repeatedly or do not hold the
power switch for four seconds or longer.

Any changes from the default setting of the Setup Utility must
not be made until the First-time Operation is completed.
