Setting the connecting tone

If you often have trouble when sending faxes, this feature allows you to hear
connecting tones: fax tone, ring back tone and busy tone. You can use these
tones to confirm the status of the other party’s machine.
M0N “OFF”: Deactivates this feature.
M1N “ON” (default): You will hear connecting tones.
Note:
R If the ring back tone continues, the other party’s machine may not be a fax
machine or may have run out of paper. Check with the other party.
R The connecting tone volume cannot be adjusted.
Setting the maximum fax

R The fax speed maybe lower than the selected speed depending on your line.
Setting the quick scan mode

M0N “OFF” (default): Deactivates this feature.
M1N “ALWAYS”: The unit will scan the document and store it into memory first,
then the unit will start sending the documents. You can send faxes without
pressing MQUICK SCANN.
Confirming the destination
before sending a fax

M0N “OFF” (default): Deactivates this feature.
M1N “ON”: You can send a fax after confirming the destination. When the
displayed destination is correct, press MSTARTN to send the fax.
Setting dial keypad entry

M0N “OFF” (default): Deactivates this feature.
M1N “ON”: If you want to restrict the use of the dial keypad for manually dialling
fax numbers (to avoid misdialling, for example), activate this feature.
Note:
R If you select “ON”, you cannot make redial calls to fax numbers entered
using the dial keypad.
R If you select “ON”, the fax number re-entry setting (feature #422 on
page 62) will be deactivated.
Setting the fax number
re-entry before sending

M0N “OFF” (default): Deactivates this feature.
M1N “ON”: If you dial a fax number manually using the dial keypad, you have to
re-enter the number and press MSTARTN. When the 2nd entry number matches
the 1st entry number, you can send the fax.
Confirming the next
document

M1N “ON”: After the document is scanned using the automatic document feeder
during fax memory transmission, the message shows to confirm the next
