Function Description

The Panasonic Proprietary Telephones are designed for use within a private branch exchange (PBX) system, offering a range of communication functionalities for both internal and external calls. These telephones act as extensions within a larger telephone system, enabling users to make and receive calls, manage multiple conversations, and utilize various call handling features. They are equipped with programmable feature buttons, allowing for customized access to frequently used functions. The devices support both handset and hands-free operation, catering to different user preferences and work environments. Certain models feature a Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) for visual feedback and navigation, enhancing user interaction. Usage Features

The telephones offer a comprehensive set of features for efficient call management:

Making Calls:

  • To an extension: Users can dial an extension number directly.
  • To an external party: By pressing the CO button and then dialing the phone number, users can initiate external calls.
  • Redial: The REDIAL button allows for quick redialing of the last number called.
  • One-Touch Dialing: Numbers can be programmed for one-touch dialing. To program, press PROGRAM, CO or PF, 2, /, 9, 9, then AUTO DIAL, phone no., STORE. To dial, press CO or PF and the assigned One-Touch Dialing button.
  • Calling an operator: Dial 0 to reach an operator.
  • Speed Dialing (Personal): Personal speed dial numbers can be set and dialed. To set, press 2, * (for KX-TA624) or 3, 0 (for KX-TA1232), then desired no., #, and personal speed dial no.. To dial, press #, 3, * (for KX-TA624) or personal speed dial no. (for KX-TA1232).
  • Speed Dialing (System): System speed dial numbers can be accessed. To dial, press AUTO DIAL, system speed dial no., STORE.

Receiving Calls:

  • Handsfree answerback (Other than KX-T7750): While on-hook, press AUTO ANS to answer calls hands-free.
  • Picking up a call: For outside (CO) lines (KX-TA1232 only), press 4, *. For directed calls, press 4, extension no. or 4, 1, extension no.. For group calls, press 4, 0.

When the Dialed Extension is Busy/No Answer:

  • Automatic Callback Busy: To set, while hearing a busy tone, press 6. To call, if you hear callback ringing, pick up the handset.
  • Message Waiting:
    • To leave a notification: Press MESSAGE.
    • To cancel a notification: Press MESSAGE, receiver's extension no. (for KX-TA624) or 7, 0, 0, receiver's extension no. (for KX-TA1232).
    • To call back: Press MESSAGE.
    • To clear all notifications: Press 7, 0, 0, #, your extension no. (for KX-TA624) or 7, 0, 0, your extension no. (for KX-TA1232).
  • Call Waiting:
    • Sender: While hearing a busy tone, press 1 to wait for an answer.
    • Receiver (KX-TA624): For outside calls, press 7, 3, 1, 1, # to set, or 7, 3, 1, 0, # to cancel. For intercom calls, press 7, 3, 2, 1, # to set, or 7, 3, 2, 0, # to cancel.

    • To talk to the new party: While hearing the Call Waiting tone, press CO or INTERCOM.

Initial Settings:

  • Speaker volume: Adjust using the Up/Down buttons while on-hook or during a conversation.
  • Handset/Headset volume: Adjust using the Up/Down buttons while using the handset or headset.
  • Ringer volume/Backlight illumination: Use the RINGER Volume Selector and BACKLIGHT Illumination Selector lever to set the desired level. The backlight has HIGH, LOW, and OFF settings for the LCD and AUTO/OFF for dialing buttons.
  • Display contrast (KX-T7730/7731/7735/7736): Adjust using the Left/Right buttons.

  • Cleaning the cabinet: Use a soft cloth; avoid benzine, thinner, or abrasive powder.
  • Disassembly: The unit must only be disassembled and repaired by qualified service technicians. In case of internal part exposure due to failure, disconnect the telephone line and mains supply immediately and return the unit to the maintainer.
  • Hearing aid compatibility: The telephone provides magnetic coupling for hearing aids.

Connection:

  • The telephone line cord (included) connects the unit to the main unit (PABX).
  • The handset connects to the designated port.
  • Caution: Ensure the cord is inserted in the groove to prevent damage to the connector.

Wall Mounting:

  1. Pull down the handset hook until it locks to hold the handset.
  2. Remove the attached stand.
  3. Mount the unit on the wall.
  • Temporary placement: To temporarily place the handset down during a conversation, hook it over the top edge of the phone.
