If the camera doesn’t recognise a scene type, then it reverts to a default setting and determines the
exposure without adjusting other parameters such as saturation of colour or aperture.

A lot of thought has gone into the automatic scene detection algorithms and they are becoming very
reliable in selecting the correct scene type for the image being recorded.
