The PAW-BTANK200-300L is a buffer tank designed for use in both heating and cooling systems, with models available in 200 and 300-liter capacities. This product is manufactured by OSO Hotwater AS and complies with relevant directives and standards, including EN 12897:2016 for pressure vessels and PED 2014/68/EU. The manufacturer is certified according to ISO 9001 (Quality), ISO 14001 (Environment), ISO 45001 (Work environment), and EN ISO 3834-2 (Welding quality).
Function Description:
The primary function of the PAW-BTANK200-300L is to act as a buffer tank, storing thermal energy for heating systems or cold energy for cooling systems. In cooling applications, a cooling kit (included in delivery) must be installed to prevent condensation. The tank is designed for permanent connection to a heating system with a maximum pressure of 3 bar (0.3 MPa). It facilitates the efficient operation of heating and cooling systems by providing a reservoir for the system's fluid, helping to stabilize temperatures and optimize energy usage.

- PAW-BTANK300L: 595x1755 mm.
- Freight Volume:
- PAW-BTANK200L: 0.46 m³.
- PAW-BTANK300L: 0.63 m³.
- Heat Loss (at 65°C):
- PAW-BTANK200L: 46 W.
- PAW-BTANK300L: 62 W.
- ErP Rating: Both models are rated B.
- Maximum System Pressure: 3 bar (0.3 MPa).
- Connections:
- Venting: 1/2" BSPP female.
- Flow/Return (upper): 1" BSPP female.
- Flow/Return (lower): 1" BSPP female.
- Drain: 1/2" BSPP female.
- Safety Valve Requirement: A CE marked safety valve with a set pressure of max. 0.3 MPa (3 bar) is obligatory in closed, pressurized systems. This valve prevents pressure elevation in the buffer by more than 0.1 MPa (1 bar) above the rated pressure. The outlet of the safety valve must be installed facing downwards in a non-freezing area.
- Water Quality Requirements (for warranty):
- Chloride: < 250 mg/L.
- Total Dissolved Solids (TDS): < 500 mg/L.
- Saturation Index (LSI) @ 80°C: < 0.8.
- pH level: < 9.5 / > 6.0.
- The product must be connected to a closed heating circuit filled with domestic water compliant with European Drinking Water Directive EN 98/83 EC.
Usage Features:
- Temperature Sensor Installation: The product is equipped with a temperature sensor bracket that accommodates 6 or 8 mm sensors. The bracket is removable for sensor insertion into appropriate grooves, ensuring proper contact with the inner tank surface.
- Cooling Kit: For cooling applications, an included cooling kit (insulation pads) must be fitted to the product base to prevent condensation.
- Pipe and Plug Fitting: The tank has multiple connections for venting, flow/return (upper and lower), and drain. Unused connections must be securely plugged using the provided 1" brass plugs with o-ring seals. An automatic air vent valve is fitted to the venting connection after filling, and a drain cock to the drain connection.
- Initial Commissioning:
- Filling: Ensure all pipes are connected, vent the system at its highest point, then open the water supply. The system is full when water flows from the vent. Finally, fit the automatic air vent valve (max torque 5 Nm).
- Control Points: Verify all pipe connections are tight and not leaking, and that the product is level.
- Draining: To drain, shut off incoming water, open the air vent valve (to prevent vacuum), then open the drain cock. After emptying, close both the drain cock and air vent valve. Caution: Water temperature can be high, posing a scalding risk.
- Handover to End-User: The installer is responsible for briefing the end-user on safety, maintenance, settings, and draining procedures, and for handing over the installation manual.
Maintenance Features:
- Accessibility: The product requires a clearance of 40 cm in front and 10 cm over the top connection for servicing and maintenance. It must be easily accessible for these purposes.
- Safety Valve Control: Users must perform regular controls of the safety valve to remove limescale and ensure it is not blocked, guaranteeing proper pressure protection.
- Frost Protection: If the system is switched off, all water must be drained from the buffer to prevent freezing. The product must be placed in a permanently frost-free position.
- Professional Servicing: Users should not attempt to fix defects on their own; the nearest authorized service provider should be contacted.
- Warranty Conditions: The warranty is valid for 2 years from the purchase date, provided the product is installed by a professional installer according to instructions and regulations, has not been modified or misused, and has been connected to a closed heating circuit with compliant water chemistry. The warranty does not cover faults from incorrect installation, lack of maintenance, accidental damage, or unauthorized repairs. Any service or repair must use original spare parts supplied by the Distributor.
