Presetting radio broadcasts

Tips on tuning in radio stations

Hold arrow buttons to scroll frequency. Press repeatedly to fine-tune tuning.

Presetting only your favorite stations

Preset stations one at a time using V, A, and MEMORY/SET buttons.

Memory retention

Preset frequencies retained for about 2 weeks while system is unplugged.

AM allocation settings

Adjust allocation to receive AM broadcasts in 10 kHz steps. May clear presets.

Before recording (Deck 2 only)

Type of tape which can be recorded correctly

Unit identifies Normal, High, and Metal position tapes. Metal tapes may not record/erase correctly.

To record from the beginning of the tape

Wind tape past leader before recording. Cannot record on leader part.

How volume, sound quality/field and Super woofer affect recording

These settings do not affect recording. Sound quality/field set to 'FLAT'.

To erase a recorded sound

Disconnect mics, insert tape in deck 2, turn off Dolby NR, select reverse mode, press REC/STOP.

Recording from radio broadcasts

To cut an unnecessary part while recording

Press REC/STOP to stop, then again to resume recording.

Recording from compact discs

To stop recording

Press for 4-sec silent interval or REC/STOP for immediate stop.

Tape-to-tape recording

To start recording on reverse side

Load tape, change direction to . Press and immediately thereafter.

To record from a specific point on a tape

Advance tape to the desired point before starting recording.

Using the play timer

Play volume setting

Set the playback volume.

Using the record timer

'ON' time setting

Set the starting hour and minutes using V, A, and MEMORY/SET buttons.

'OFF' time setting

Set the ending hour and minutes using V, A, and MEMORY/SET buttons.

Source selection

Select radio station or AUX unit for recording.

Prepare for recording.

Insert tape in deck 2, select Dolby NR, select reverse mode.

Using the sleep timer

Preparations

Complete 'Setting the time' and switch on the power.

While enjoying the desired source:

Press SLEEP to select desired time (30-120 min, OFF). System turns OFF when time elapses.

To cancel the sleep timer:

Press SLEEP to select 'OFF'.

To confirm the remaining time:

Press SLEEP while power is ON.

To change the time remaining during operation:

Press SLEEP to show time, then press SLEEP to select new time.

Note

Sleep timer turns OFF automatically when attempting CD Manager edit-record.

To use two timers together

Sleep timer has priority. Do not overlap settings. Combine with Record or Play timer.

For your reference

Play timer cannot be used with record timer.

Singing along with KARAOKE

Note

Avoid modes where bar is indicated. Use stereo software for voice mute.
