Overview

This document describes the Panasonic OLED TV, a smart television designed for home entertainment. It offers a range of features for viewing content, connecting to various devices, and accessing internet services.

Function Description:

The Panasonic OLED TV is a high-definition television capable of displaying images with expanded color gamut and high frame rates, especially when connected to 4K compatible equipment. It supports various broadcasting standards including DVB-S/S2, DVB-T/T2, DVB-C, and analogue signals. The TV integrates smart functionalities, allowing access to internet apps and voice control. It also features a built-in wireless LAN and Bluetooth® wireless technology for seamless connectivity. The TV is designed for table-top use but can also be installed with a wall-hanging bracket.

Usage Features:

  • Viewing Modes: The TV offers different viewing modes and allows users to select input modes for various external devices.
  • Automatic Setup: Upon initial power-on, the TV guides users through an automatic setup process to search for available TV channels and configure basic settings, including network connection.
  • Picture and Sound Adjustment: The TV includes an ambient sensor that adjusts picture brightness based on ambient lighting conditions. Users can also access a Picture menu to fine-tune settings like Luminance Level, Contrast, Brightness, and Colour. For audio, the TV supports headphones and subwoofers, with adjustable output settings.
  • Remote Control: The TV comes with a remote control that can operate via both infrared and Bluetooth® wireless technology. For voice control functionality, the remote must be registered (paired) with the TV. The remote allows users to switch the TV on/off, change viewing modes, access streaming services, navigate menus, adjust volume, and perform various other operations. It also features dedicated buttons for popular streaming services and a microphone for voice commands.
  • Voice Control: The TV recognizes speech, enabling users to perform operations such as changing channels, adjusting volume, searching for programs, and browsing the internet. Users can select a preferred voice service and interact with the TV by speaking into the remote control's microphone.
  • Connectivity: The TV provides multiple HDMI inputs for connecting 4K/HDR compatible equipment, DVD players, camcorders, and game consoles. It also has USB ports for connecting USB HDDs for recording content, and an Ethernet port for wired network connections. A Common Interface slot is available for CI modules and smart cards, allowing access to encrypted channels.
  • Bluetooth® Devices: The TV supports Bluetooth® communications, allowing users to register and connect compatible devices, including audio devices that support A2DP. Up to two audio devices can be used simultaneously.
  • Recording: The TV supports recording to a USB HDD connected to the USB 1 port.
  • Panel Maintenance: The TV performs automatic panel maintenance, which takes approximately 10 minutes, during which the LED turns orange. This process helps maintain the panel's performance.
  • Safety Features: The TV incorporates safety precautions, including warnings against displaying still images for prolonged periods to prevent "image retention." It also has an auto power standby function and can be set to power off if no signal is received or no operation is performed for a certain period.

Maintenance Features:

  • Regular Cleaning: The display panel, cabinet, and pedestal can be gently wiped with a soft cloth to remove dirt and fingerprints. For stubborn dirt, a soft cloth dampened with clean water or diluted neutral detergent can be used, followed by wiping away all moisture.
  • Mains Plug Maintenance: The mains plug should be wiped with a dry cloth at regular intervals to prevent fire or electrical shock.
  • Fuse Replacement: The mains plug is fitted with a 10 amp fuse. Instructions are provided for replacing the fuse, ensuring the replacement fuse has the correct rating and approval.
  • Troubleshooting: The manual provides a FAQ section to help users solve common problems, such as the TV not switching on, remote control issues, or unusual image displays. It also suggests performing a built-in Self Test for picture and sound problems.
  • Panel Protection: To prevent image retention, users are advised to avoid displaying still images for long periods, set [Logo Luminance Control] to [Max], and ensure the TV is turned off for panel maintenance. During panel maintenance, touching or exerting pressure on the screen should be avoided.
  • Ventilation: Sufficient space (at least 10 cm) around the TV should be maintained to prevent excessive heat. Ventilation openings should not be covered by items such as newspapers, tablecloths, or curtains.
  • Battery Care: For the remote control, users are advised to keep batteries out of reach of children, replace them with the same or equivalent type, avoid mixing old and new batteries or different battery types, and dispose of them correctly. Batteries should be removed from the unit if not used for a prolonged period to prevent leakage.
  • Moving the TV: Before moving the TV, all cables should be disconnected. At least two people are required to move the TV to prevent injury. The TV should be transported only in an upright position, and the screen part should not be held as shown in the manual to avoid malfunction or damage.
