Do you have a question about the PEDROLLO EASYPRESS 50066/115 and is the answer not in the manual?
The EASYPRESS® is an electronic pump controller designed to start and stop a pump, replacing traditional pressure switch and surge tank systems. It initiates pump operation when a tap is opened and the system pressure drops below the "start-up pressure" (Pm). The pump stops when the required flow rate becomes zero or falls below the "shut-off flow rate" (Qa). The device's electronics protect the pump from abnormal operating conditions such as dry running or frequent start-ups caused by leaks in the system.
The EASYPRESS® is suitable for use with clean water and chemically non-aggressive liquids. If the liquid contains impurities, an upstream filter should be installed. It is not designed for use in environments with explosion risk. The ambient temperature for operation must be between 0°C and 40°C, and humidity must not exceed 90%.
Before installation, it is crucial to verify that the product's nameplate data matches the desired specifications. The device can be mounted in any orientation, provided the flow direction is respected. It can be installed directly on the pump outlet or anywhere along the delivery line. No taps should be installed between the pump and the EASYPRESS®. While not strictly necessary, a non-return valve can be installed on the pump's suction piping, but not between the EASYPRESS® and the taps.
The pressure generated by the water column above the EASYPRESS® must not exceed the pump's start-up pressure (Pm). For instance, if the EASYPRESS® is installed 20 meters below the highest tap in the system, the detected pressure will be approximately 2 bar. In such cases, a model with a Pm of 2.2 bar should be installed to ensure correct pump restart when a tap is opened. The maximum pressure produced by the pump must be at least 1-1.5 bar higher than the start-up pressure (Pm). If the pump's pressure is insufficient, the EASYPRESS® will stop the pump and indicate a "dry running" error message.
For the first start-up, the pump must be primed according to its manual. The EASYPRESS® has a built-in check valve, so its outlet should not be used for priming. Upon power-up, the red (Power) LED illuminates. The EASYPRESS® immediately detects a lack of pressure in the hydraulic system and starts the pump (green Status LED illuminates). If proper priming is not detected within 15 seconds, the pump stops and indicates a "dry running" error. For initial start-up, the pump may need to run longer to complete priming. An emergency stop can be performed by pressing the START/STOP button, which puts the EASYPRESS® into an "OUT OF SERVICE" state.
The EASYPRESS® includes several protective functions:
For electrical connections, follow the diagram provided inside the circuit board cover. The IP 65 protection for live parts is only guaranteed if the cable bushings and circuit board cover are correctly assembled and secured. When ordering spare parts, always specify the position number from the exploded view diagram and the product code from the technical data table. Do not disassemble the water accumulator or its cover. Dispose of EASYPRESS® parts according to local waste disposal regulations, avoiding environmental contamination.
