SYSTEM OVERVIEW
The Precellys
®
24 homogeniser allows to simultaneously lyse up to 24 samples in 2 ml tubes. Using the
Precellys
®
24-Dual up to 6 samples in 7 ml tubes or up to 12 samples in 2 ml tubes can be grinded at
once within a few seconds. The lysis principle is based on grinding the sample material with ceramic,
steel or glass beads at very high speed in 2 ml or 7 ml screw cap tubes available as so called 'Precellys
®
lysis kits' (see 'TECHNICAL SUPPORT and ORDERING INFORMATION').
Therefore the tubes are put in the rotor-like tube holder of the Precellys
®
24/Precellys
®
24-Dual and are
exposed to a powerful three dimensional precision movement (3-dimensional eight). Because of enor-
mous power reserves, the choice of adequate lysis beads and the adaptation of the programmable pa-
rameter agitation speed, time and number of the agitation intervals, best homogenisation results can be
obtained for a multitude of even challenging starting material and applications (see 'APPLICATIVE
TIPS').
The patented vacuum closure system of the Precellys
®
24/Precellys
®
24-Dual allows for the fast and con-
venient loading of the tube holder and avoids the use of any screws or tools. Sensors in the locking latch
and tube holder are permanently monitoring the locking state and will prevent or stop operation in case
tubes or safety lid are not locked properly. Free accessibility and material consistence of the sample
room which is sealed completely to the interior of the device is allowing for an effective decontamination
of the system.
