Overview

This document describes the 700W SHOP BLOWER, Item Number W50069, an electric blower designed for use in and around the garage, shop, or home. Its primary function is to remove small debris, dust, shavings, and leaves, or to blow dry water on smooth surfaces. It is not recommended for rough, porous, or uneven surfaces, nor is it designed for industrial applications or purposes other than its intended use.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Voltage: 120V AC, 60Hz
  • Rated Power: 700W, 5.8 AMPs
  • RPM: 17,000 min.
  • Air Flow Rate: 100 CFM
  • Air Speed: 90 MPH (145KPH)
  • Weight: 3.3 lbs. (1.5Kg)
  • Noise Rating: 98 dB (A)

Usage Features:

The blower is equipped with several features to facilitate its operation:

  • Nozzle Connector (1): The point where the nozzle assembly attaches.
  • Trigger (2): Activates the blower when pressed and held.
  • Trigger Lock (3): Allows for continuous operation without holding the trigger. To engage, press the trigger (2) and then the trigger lock (3). To disengage, press and release the trigger (2).
  • Intake (4): The air intake point. Users must keep long hair away from this area to prevent it from being sucked into the suction tube.
  • Nozzles (5): The device includes two nozzle pieces that connect to form the nozzle assembly. These are twisted to lock together and then connected to the blowing connector (1), rotated to lock in place.
  • Variable Speed Knob (6): Allows adjustment of the blower's speed from 1 to 6. To adjust, set the knob to 1, plug in the blower, pull the trigger, and then turn the knob clockwise to the desired output level.
  • Carbon Brush Plugs (7): Provide access to the carbon brushes for maintenance.
  • Cord (8): The power cord for connecting to an electrical outlet.

General Operation Guidelines:

Before operating, users must read and understand all safety information.

  • Switching On/Off: Press and hold the trigger (2) to switch on; release to switch off.
  • Nozzle Attachment: Connect the two nozzle pieces (5) by twisting them to lock. Then, connect the assembled nozzle to the blowing connector (1) and rotate to lock it in place.
  • Speed Adjustment: Begin with the Variable Speed Knob (6) set to 1. Plug in the blower, pull the trigger, and then turn the knob clockwise to increase the speed from 1 to 6, depending on the desired output level.
  • Work Environment: Operate only in daylight or good artificial light. Avoid sucking in water or other liquids. Maintain firm footing, especially on slopes, and walk, do not run. Pay attention when changing direction.
  • Safety Precautions: Never leave the blower unattended while plugged in or operating. Allow the blower to cool periodically. Always wear sturdy shoes and sufficient clothing; avoid loose clothing that could be sucked into the suction tube. Use personal protective equipment, including safety glasses and hearing protection. Thoroughly check the work area for items that could be sucked into the suction tube or blown away. Ensure air tubes, safety devices, and covers are installed before starting. Hold the tool with both hands, ensuring the nozzle end is not obstructed. Attach extension cords to prevent accidental disconnection.

Maintenance Features:

Regular maintenance is crucial for safe and effective operation.

  • Power Disconnection: Always unplug the power cord from the main socket before any installation, adjustment, repair, cleaning, or maintenance.
  • Carbon Brush Replacement: Carbon brushes (2) that are shorter than 5mm, burnt, or broken should be replaced immediately. Both carbon brushes should be replaced simultaneously. To replace:
    • Unscrew and remove the carbon brush plugs (7) with a slotted screwdriver.
    • Remove used carbon brushes and clean any carbon dust with compressed air.
    • Insert new carbon brushes, ensuring they slide smoothly into the brush holders.
    • Fasten the carbon brush plugs (7).
    • After replacement, switch on the device for approximately 1-2 minutes to allow the brushes to adapt to the motor. Only qualified personnel should replace carbon brushes using identical replacement parts.
  • Cleaning: It is recommended to clean the device after each use. Keep the motor housing free from dust and debris. Wipe the device with a clean cloth or blow it with low-pressure compressed air. Do not use water or chemical cleaning agents, and prevent water from penetrating the device.
  • Storage: Ensure all screws are properly tightened for safe operation. Use only original accessories and spare parts. When not in use, store the device in a dry place, away from children.
  • Motor Inspection: In case of excessive sparking at the motor, have the motor brushes checked by skilled personnel.
  • Power Cord: If the power cord is damaged, replace it with another one of the same characteristics. This operation should be entrusted to a qualified technician or repair shop.
  • Defect Repair: All defects should be repaired by a service workshop authorized by the manufacturer.

  • Servicing: Have the power tool serviced by a qualified repair person using only identical replacement parts.
  • Labels: Maintain labels and nameplates; contact Performance Tool® for replacements if unreadable or missing.
  • Adjustments: Disconnect the plug from the power source before making adjustments or changing accessories.
  • Tool Maintenance: Check for misalignment, binding, breakage, or other conditions affecting operation. Clean air vents regularly. Repair damaged tools before use.
  • Accessories: Use only accessories specifically designed and recommended by the tool manufacturer.

  • Intended Use: Use the power tool, accessories, and bits in accordance with instructions and working conditions.
  • Cutting Accessories: Keep cutting accessories sharp and clean.

Work in well-ventilated areas and use approved safety equipment, such as dust masks.
  • Vibration Warning: This tool vibrates during use. Repeated or long-term exposure to vibration can cause temporary or permanent physical injury. Users should be examined by a doctor, avoid smoking, wear suitable gloves, choose tools with lowest vibration, include vibration-free periods, grip lightly, and maintain the tool as explained in the manual. Stop use immediately if abnormal vibration occurs.
