In this situation, however, it is no longer
possible to shift gears.
Gearbox Oil Temperature
If the transmission fault warning symbol in
the master display comes on during
driving, this could be an indication that the
gearbox oil has reached its maximum
temperature.
In this situation, the ECU limits gearbox
shifting to the first four gears.
It is important to drive to a safe place as
soon as possible and let the engine idle in
neutral at an increased idling speed.
As a result, the cooling system of the
engine will try to cool the gearbox oil.
If after approximately two minutes the
warning in the master display has not
disappeared, the engine must be turned off
and contact made with the nearest
authorized Service dealer.
