Locate the water supply inlets & shut o the water supply valves. These are usually found near the water meter.

If you are replacing an existing unit, remove the old unit & clean mounting surface thoroughly.

The Pfister Venturi™ Tub & Shower Trim is a plumbing fixture designed for use in bathrooms, specifically for controlling water flow and temperature to a showerhead and/or bathtub spout. It is a pressure-balancing system, meaning it helps maintain a consistent water temperature even when other water sources in the house are used. The trim kit includes the visible components of the shower system, such as the handle, flange, shower arm, showerhead, and tub spout, which are installed over a pre-existing Pfister™ OX8 Series Pressure Balancing Valve.

Important Technical Specifications:

Compatibility: Specifically designed for use with the Pfister™ OX8 Series Pressure Balancing Valve. It will not work with other product valves.
WaterSense® Certified: Meets EPA criteria for water efficiency, as certified by IAPMO R&T. This indicates that the product is designed to save water without compromising performance.
Installation Options:
- Thin Wall Installation: Accommodates walls up to 1 3/8" (35 mm) thick.
- Thick Wall Installation: Accommodates walls between 1 5/8" (41 mm) and 2 3/4" (70 mm) thick.
Rough-in Dimensions (Tub and Shower):
- Handle center to tub spout center: 8" (203 mm) minimum.
- Handle center to shower arm center: 48" (1219 mm) minimum.
- Valve body diameter for thin walls: 4 3/4" (121 mm) outer diameter, 4" (102 mm) inner diameter.
- Plasterguard diameter: 1 1/4" (32 mm).
Rough-in Dimensions (Shower Only):
- Handle center to shower arm center: 48" (1219 mm) minimum.
- Handle center to tub spout center (if applicable): 30" (762 mm) minimum.
- Valve body diameter for thin walls: 4 3/4" (121 mm) outer diameter, 4" (102 mm) inner diameter.
- Plasterguard diameter: 1 1/4" (32 mm).
Extension Kit: An optional Extension Kit (970-083) is available, offering an additional 7/8" extension if the valve is roughed in too deep within the wall.
Shower Arm Connection:
- Option 1 (Copper Pipe): Requires a copper pipe connection with a length of 1 1/2" - 2 1/4" (38 mm - 57 mm) from the finished wall.
- Option 2 (Threaded Pipe): Requires a threaded pipe connection with a length of 3 7/8" - 4" (98 mm - 101 mm) from the finished wall.

Usage Features:

Single Handle Operation: The trim features a single handle for controlling both water temperature and flow.
Temperature Control: The handle's rotational movement adjusts the water temperature from cold to hot.
Flow Control: Pulling the handle vertically upwards activates the shower flow.
Pressure Balancing: The underlying OX8 valve ensures a consistent water temperature, preventing sudden scalding or chilling due to pressure fluctuations in the water supply.
