Possible Reason How to Diagnose
Bad lamp
Place a known working lamp in the ballast.
If it does not icker or have errac start,
the original lamp is bad.
Lamp not installed properly
Check to see if lamp is properly and
securely installed.
Lamp / ballast incompability Try another lamp brand.
Inconsistent current Electronic ballast: Is the line condioned.
Lamp not “burned in” “Burn in” (run the lamp for 24 hours).
Old lamp/excessive use of lamp
Check the rated hours:
Has it been run 60% of the rated hours?
If yes, try a new lamp.
Possible wrong lamp type for
ballast
Try another lamp type or conrm proper
ballast for lamp type.
Incorrect waage for ballast
Conrm proper waage for ballast and
lamp.
No power
Check circuit panel and power cord
connecons.
Bad fuse/circuit
If on panel, replace. If on the ballast,
replace.
Bad ballast (failure)
Place lamp in known working ballast.
If the lamp works, the ballast is bad.
