Controlling other devices through CEC
ConsumerElectronicsControl(CEC)enablesyourTVandotherCECcompatiblehomeentertainment
devicestocontroloneanotherinvariousways.First,theCECcompatibledevicesmust“discover”one
anotherandreporttheircapabilities.Afterthis,onedevicecancontrolanotheraccordingtothe
featuresyouenable.Forexample,playinga
disconaBluray™playercouldswitchtheTVtotheBlu
ray™player’sinput.Or,poweringofftheTVcouldalsopowerofftheBluray™playerandthehome
theaterreceiver.
Discover connected CEC devices
TodiscoverCECdevices:
1. MakesurethatyourCECcompatibledevicesareconnectedtotheTVwithacertifiedHigh
SpeedHDMI
®
CablethatsupportsHDMI
®
ARCandCECcontrol.
2. TurnoneachdeviceandmakesurealldevicesareCECen abled.
Tip:SomemanufacturershavetheirownbrandednamesforCECfunctionality,soyoumight
needtoreadtheproductdocumentationtocorrectlyidentifytheCECfeaturesofthedevice.
3. OntheTV’s
Homescreenmenu,navigatetoSettings>System>Controlotherdevices(CEC)
andthenselectSearchforCECdevices.PressOKtorepeatthediscoveryprocess,ifnecessary.
Whenfinished,theTVdisplaysalistofCECdevicesthatareconnectedtoeachHDMI
®
input,aswellas
anydevicesthathadpreviouslybeenconnected.TheTVremembersthenamesofmultipleCECdevices
evenwhentheyarenolongerconnected.Ifthelistislo ngerthantheallowedspace,pressSTARto
seeacompletelistinascrollablewindow.
