Function Description

Usage Features

Power and Source Selection:

  • Power On/Off: Long press the "power" button.
  • Source Selection: Short press the "power" button to cycle through Bluetooth, Audio in, FM, and USB modes. Audio in and FM modes are available only when the stereo cable is connected. USB mode is available only when a USB device is inserted.

Bluetooth Mode:

  • Pairing: Long press the "power" button to turn on the unit; it will enter Bluetooth mode with a quickly flashing blue LED. Search for "PHILIPS BT114" on your Bluetooth device. A "Beep" sound indicates entering pairing mode, and a double "Beep" confirms successful pairing. The blue light will stop flashing. The default password, if required, is "0000".
  • Automatic Reconnection: After successful pairing, the device will automatically connect to the speaker next time.
  • Disconnecting: Long press the "play/pause" button for 3 seconds to disconnect the current device and enter pairing mode.
  • LED Indicator: Blue LED for Bluetooth mode.

Audio In Mode:

  • Connection: Connect a 3.5mm stereo cable from the external audio device's headphone socket to the speaker's Audio In socket.
  • Activation: Inserting the stereo cable automatically activates Audio In mode. The speaker cannot enter Audio In mode without the cable.
  • LED Indicator: Green LED for Audio In mode.

FM Mode:

  • Activation: Connect an audio stereo cable (acting as an antenna) and short press the "power" button until the speaker enters FM mode. The LED will flash blue & green alternatively.
  • Channel Search & Save: Long press the "play/pause" button to search and save all FM channels from 87.5 to 108Hz.
  • Channel Selection: Use the "-" or "+" buttons (short press) to select desired channels.
  • Requirement: FM mode requires the audio cable to be connected.
  • LED Indicator: Blue and green LEDs alternate for FM mode.

USB Mode:

  • Activation: Insert a USB device and short press the "power" button to select USB mode. The LED will change to light blue. The speaker cannot convert to USB mode if the USB is not fully inserted.
  • LED Indicator: Light blue LED for USB mode.

Playback Controls (common across modes where applicable):

  • Play/Pause: Short press the "play/pause" button.
  • Previous Song/Track: Short press the "-" button.
  • Next Song/Track: Short press the "+" button.

Volume Control:

  • Volume Decrease: Long press the "-" button.
  • Volume Increase: Long press the "+" button. A sound will be made when the volume reaches its higher limit.

Hands-free Phone Call Function:

  • Incoming Call: Blue light flashes, and the speaker emits a 'Beep' sound.
  • Answer Call: Short press the "play/pause" button.
  • End Call/Reject Call: Short press the "play/pause" button.
  • Adjust Volume: Use the "-" or "+" buttons to decrease or increase call volume.
  • Disconnect Bluetooth during call: Long press the "play/pause" button.

Charging:

  • Connection: Connect the micro USB charging cable to the speaker's DC In socket and to a computer's USB socket or a standard 5V 1A charger.
  • Charging Time: 3-4 hours.
  • Over-charging Protection: The speaker has an internal over-charging protective circuit.
  • LED Indicator: Orange LED for charging.
  • Low Power Warning: When the battery is low, the speaker will emit a "Beep" sound, and the volume will decrease to maintain playback quality. The speaker will shut down if there is no power.

Maintenance Features

General Care:

  • Placement: Place the speaker on a flat surface.
  • Ventilation: Ensure adequate ventilation by allowing at least 10cm (4 inches) of free space around the apparatus to prevent heat buildup.
  • Cleaning: Use a soft cloth slightly moistened to clean the cabinet. Avoid solutions containing alcohol, spirits, ammonia, or abrasives.
  • Environmental Conditions: Avoid high temperatures, moisture, water, and dust. Do not expose the apparatus to dripping or splashing liquids. Do not place liquid-filled objects or lighted candles on the speaker. Do not install near heat sources.
  • Indoor Use Only: The device is intended for indoor use.

Battery Care:

  • Initial Charge: Fully charge the built-in battery before first use.
  • Charging Socket: The micro USB socket is for charging only.
  • Battery Life: Rechargeable batteries have a limited number of charge cycles; life varies by use and settings.
  • Long-term Storage: If not using the speaker for a long time, ensure it is fully charged once every month to protect the battery.

Troubleshooting:

  • No Power: Charge the unit using the USB charging cable.
  • No Sound/Distorted Sound: Adjust volume or select the correct source.
  • Low Hum/Buzz Sound: Place the product away from other electrical devices causing interference.
  • No Response: Restart the speaker.
  • Poor Audio Quality (Bluetooth): Move the device closer to the speaker or remove obstacles.
  • Cannot Connect (Bluetooth): Disconnect any other connected Bluetooth devices and try again.
