Usage Features
Getting Started:
- Charging: The speaker is powered by a built-in rechargeable battery. To charge, open the cover on the back and connect the speaker to AC power using an adaptor (not supplied) via the micro USB socket. The battery indicator shows solid red during charging, flashes red for 10 minutes when low, and turns off when fully charged.
- Turning On/Off: Press and hold the power button until the blue LED indicator flashes (on) or turns off (off). The speaker automatically switches to standby mode after 15 minutes of inactivity.
Bluetooth Playback:
- Connecting a Device:
- Ensure the speaker is in Bluetooth pairing mode. For first-time use, it enters pairing mode automatically. To re-enter pairing mode, press and hold the Bluetooth button for three seconds. The Bluetooth indicator flashes blue quickly.
- Enable Bluetooth on your device and search for "Philips SB300."
- Select "Philips SB300" to pair. If prompted, enter "0000" as the password.
- Upon successful connection, the speaker beeps twice, and the Bluetooth LED indicator turns solid blue.
- Bluetooth Connection Status (Blue LED Indicator):
- Flashing quickly (2Hz): Pairing
- Flashing slowly (1Hz): Connecting
- Solid blue: Connected
- Playing Audio: After connecting, play audio on your Bluetooth device, and music will stream to the speaker.
- Reconnecting: When turned on, the speaker attempts to reconnect to the last connected device automatically. If unsuccessful, manually select "Philips SB300" from your device's Bluetooth menu.
- Disconnecting: Press and hold the Bluetooth button for three seconds, turn off the speaker, disable Bluetooth on your device, or move the device out of range.
- Connecting Another Device: Press and hold the Bluetooth button for three seconds to disconnect the current device and enter pairing mode, then connect a new device.
- Clearing Pairing Information: Press and hold the Bluetooth button for ten seconds to clear all Bluetooth pairing information.
Phone Call Control (after Bluetooth connection):
- Answer Call: Press the Bluetooth button.
- Reject Call: Press and hold the Bluetooth button for three seconds.
- End Call: During a call, press the Bluetooth button.
- Transfer Call: During a call, press and hold the Bluetooth button for three seconds to transfer the call between your mobile device and the speaker.
- Music playback pauses during an incoming call and resumes after the call ends.
Other Features:
- External Device Playback:
- Open the cover on the back of the speaker.
- Connect a 3.5 mm audio input cable (not supplied) from the external device's headphone socket to the speaker's AUDIO IN socket.
- Play audio on the external device. The speaker automatically switches to AUDIO IN mode. Ensure Bluetooth music playback is stopped for this feature.
- Flashing Light: Press the light button to turn the flashing light on or off during playback. When on, the light color changes randomly.
- Adjust Volume: Press +/- repeatedly to increase or decrease the volume. Press and hold +/- for continuous adjustment. The speaker beeps twice when maximum volume is reached.
Maintenance Features
General Care:
- Never remove the casing of the speaker.
- Keep the speaker away from direct sunlight, naked flames, or heat.
- Only use attachments or accessories specified by the manufacturer.
- Do not place any sources of danger (e.g., lighted candles) on the speaker.
- The speaker meets IPX7 waterproof standards only when the DC IN/AUDIO IN socket cover is seamlessly covered.
Battery Care:
- The built-in battery should not be exposed to excessive heat.
- Rechargeable batteries have a limited number of charge cycles; battery life varies by use and settings.
- Do not attempt to remove the built-in battery yourself, as this invalidates the warranty and may destroy the product. Always take the product to a professional for battery removal.
Environmental Care:
- The product is designed with high-quality recyclable and reusable materials.
- Dispose of the product and its battery according to local regulations for electrical and electronic products and rechargeable batteries. This helps prevent negative environmental and health consequences.
