Validating Patient Records before Export
If the QuickCheck workflow feature is enabled on your monitor, you may be required and
authorized to validate patient records on the monitor before the records are saved to the
Patient Records tab or exported to an EMR server.
If there are records that need to be validated, a red circle appears next to the Records
button on the main screen toolbar. A number inside the circle indicates the current
number of pending records. Touching the Records button automatically opens the
Pending Records tab.
Depending on the workflow that your system administrator configures, you may be
required to enter a validator ID and password before reviewing and validating patient
records. Your system administrator provides you with the required ID and password.
If validator credentials are required, a Validator Login window appears when you
attempt to access the Pending Records tab. You must provide your credentials and
touch the Log On button to access the Pending Records tab.
To validate a record in the Pending Records tab
1 Touch the Records button in the toolbar on the main screen.
2 If necessary, touch the Pending Records tab to open it.
3 If the Validator Login window appears, enter your validator ID and password.
Note
If an error message appears after you enter the validator ID and password, contact
your system administrator.
4 Locate the record you want to validate.
Records requiring validation are indicated with a purple oval at left.
5 Touch the record.
The record expands and reveals Delete, Edit, and Validate buttons.
6 Review the record.
Touch the left and right arrows in the expanded record to expose additional data in
the record—for example, observations and assessments or EWS data.
7 If the record requires any edits to patient information, see “To edit patient
information in a saved record in the Pending Records tab” on page 3-36.
