4-2 EarlyVue VS30 Instructions for Use
Visual Alarm Indicators
The EarlyVue VS30 monitor uses the following visual alarm indicators:
Alarm light on the top of the monitor
Alarm message panes
Flashing Acknowledge Alarm button
Flashing numeric panes
Alarm icons
Also, in the Records menu, any measurement that exceeds alarm limits is enclosed in a
white box, as shown below for NBP.
When you touch the Acknowledge Alarm button to pause the audio indicator for an
active alarm, the visual alarm indicators continue to display, unless the alarm is a latched
alarm and the alarm condition no longer exists.
If the QuickAlerts feature is enabled on your monitor, you may see alert messages that
include the reason for the alert and the action you should perform in response. For more
information, see “QuickAlerts Messages” on page 4-18.
Alarm Light
The alarm light located on the top of the monitor is visible from 360 degrees horizontally.
Its color and flashing pattern alerts you to physiological and technical alarm conditions,
as described in the following table.
Alarm Priority Alarm Light Color
High Flashing red, with a faster interval than medium priority alarms
Medium Flashing amber, with a slower interval than high priority alarms
Low Steady blue (no flashing)
