EarlyVue VS30 Instructions for Use 4-3
Visual Alarm Indicators
Alarm Message Panes
The information bar at the top of the main screen includes designated areas for two
alarm message panes—one for physiological alarms and one for technical alarms. See
“Information Bar” on page 2-18. These message panes appear only when an alarm
condition exists. They contain descriptive text about the alarm. The background color
indicates the alarm priority, as shown in the following table.
Within each message pane, higher priority alarm messages preempt lower priority alarm
messages. After the higher priority alarm has been resolved, the lower priority alarm
message appears. If multiple alarms of the same priority occur at the same time, the
alarm messages rotate every 1.5 seconds.
Because there are two separate message panes, physiological and technical alarm
messages can appear simultaneously.
For a complete list of alarm messages and descriptions of each message, see
Appendix A, “Alarm Specifications.”
If there are no current technical alarms, the technical alarm message pane can be used
for informational messages. Informational messages have a white background.
Flashing Acknowledge Alarm Button
The Acknowledge Alarm button at the upper right of the main screen is dimmed when
there are no active alarms. When an alarm occurs, the button flashes bright amber, with
the active alarm icon displayed. When you touch the active Acknowledge Alarm button,
the button changes to an Alarm Acknowledged button. The following table describes
these alarm states. The following table describes the various states of the button.
