Changing Alarm Settings

Alarm limits are set to factory defaults. You can change the limits for the current
monitoring session. The alarm settings are reset to default values each time you admit a
new patient, change the patient type, or change the monitoring mode.
To access the alarm limit settings, you can:
• Touch a numeric pane to access its menu.
• Touch the Limits button in the toolbar to open the Alarm Settings menu for all
alarms.
To change the alarm limits for one measurement
1 Touch the numeric pane for the measurement you want to change.
The menu for that measurement opens.
2 Touch the value you want to change.
A numeric keypad opens. For your reference, the allowed minimum and maximum
values are shown near the top of the keypad.
3 Enter a new value within the allowed range.
4 Touch OK.
5 Repeat steps 2 through 4 for each additional value you want to change.
6 When you are finished, touch Done.
To change the alarm limits for several measurements
1 Touch the Limits button in the toolbar.
The Alarm Settings menu opens. In addition to a General tab, the menu includes a
tab for each physiological measurement.
2 Touch the tab for the first measurement for which you want to change limits.
3 In that tab:
a Touch the value you want to change.
A numeric keypad opens. For your reference, the allowed minimum and
maximum values are shown near the top of the keypad.
b Enter a new value within the allowed range.
c Touch OK.
d Repeat steps a through c for each additional value your want to change for this
measurement
4 Repeat step 3 for each additional measurement for which you want to change limits.
5 When you are finished, touch Done.
